It's a nice little game. I really enjoy the responsive UI and sci-fi sound. But I've got that nagging feeling that I'm missing something. It's just memory isn't it?
Thank you for your kind words! Yes, it's a super simple game. The only thing that isn't necessarily obvious is how the scoring is calculated. It's based on 3 factors:
1) how may guesses it took
2) how many you got right
3) how fast you completed it
That's it, I don't think you're missing anything :)
Very snappy controls and quite challenging enemy with those fast bullets.
Mabey you could add invincibility after getting killed. I have lost my last two lives right after another when a big battleship came and I had no chance to kill them fast enough after I died
Thank you for the feedback! There actually is invincibility after getting killed, although it only lasts a few seconds. I think the real issue though is that if you don't manage to reclaim your weapon upgrades when they explode out of your ship it is really hard to kill the enemies after that, especially on higher levels. In the sequel to this game, that's one of the main things I'll be looking at and it's good to hear it from the community too, so thanks for the input :) In the mean time, here are a few tips for when you get killed and respawn in the current version: 1) When your ship explodes, most of your upgrades are recoverable. Be sure to prioritize getting the weapon upgrades back first - they're the most important ones. 2) After level 20, it is possible to get the blue laser weapon. Definitely grab it if you see it because it's twice as powerful as the default green laser and best of all you automatically get to keep it when you respawn. Happy hunting!
Some of the good combinations of upgrades I found:
I go through the upgrades top to bottom, staring with speed. Nubers markt with an * kann be modified without affecting the result.
3*, 1*, 3*, 1, 30*, 1, 0*, 0, 5 An upgrade to the normal bullets that penetrate bosses and enemys with enormous damag.
1, 8, 1*, 8, 360, 8, 10*, 0, 5 You only need two shots for a level. One at the beginning and one at the boss.

Sorry for the late reply - it definitely will be. I am considering releasing the 3D version (without the artwork I wanted first) as I have not had the time to spare from the more important projects I am working on. I will see about re-organising my weekly schedule, so that I can squeeze in a few hours to get back to it with the new year; maybe I will put off creating the 3D assets so that I can constantly release improvements (like I was doing at the start).
