ATTENTION: ALL KOMMUNICATE PLAYERS: AcademyIntl Chat (aka: Project Tarigato) is nearing pre-alpha testing stages, WHICH ALL KOMMUNICATE PLAYERS ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN. Scheduled to open in April of 2012 (about 15 days from now!!!)
Unfortunately, due to our datacenter being a bunch of 12yo twats (similar to the players we strive NOT to have on Kommunicate) all of our servers had multiple hardware failure over the weekend. ( Those going to academyintl.net recently would have noticed it down. )
Hey guis, you can get updates on the progress of the new Kommunicate by visiting us on Teamspeak: ts.academyintl.net The new website / mobile kommunicate is in closed beta.
Zoom in on Firefox to force the flash to stretch on the page, note the developer uses the "out of stage area" to draw all sorts of random crap, and numbers.
Users can send me a message with the text "/about Tarrigato" to get some information about the new Kommunicate sent to them in a personal message! (The system checks my PM box once an hour for commands..)
I personally think you've done good UnknownGuardian since I saw GDR last, but I have a few gripes / changes. 1. Save the user's sound settings to a SharedObject and re-load them (before) he re-enters the room. 2. If you play GDR at anything higher than 100% zoom, you get a giant white box in GDR that fills the top half of the game (wtf?) 3. The new icons on usernames, while cool and obvious to me what they mean; could use some tooltips for those that don't know what each colour means.
Development is moving forward swiftly for the full website version of Kommunicate, and please donate for us: http://tinyurl.com/Kommunicate Every dollar helps.
I'm sorry guys, there's nothing I can do at the moment. Cogent (an international data provider) has decided that our server gets routed retarder, so all requests from about 80% of earth get timed out instead of reaching our server.
We're complaining right now, but the goings are slow.
I had the server down because I thought nobody was playing this; it's not exactly free for me to run you know. The resources for a server that has over 20,000 unique users is demanding; compared to a shared hosting or even a small VPS.
It not being playable in Mozilla Firefox (nightly) was a bug in Nightly that all (yes ALL) memory intensive flash would crash while loading, and that socket connections (multiplayer) were blocking. So that anything that communicated slowed the game down, not my fault :/
