OK - for those not seeing the new upgrades: I saved my data with an export, did a hard reset, and imported my data again. Afterward the upgrade showed up. I had already cleared my cache and reset my browser as well, if the hard reset alone doesn't do the trick.
Did the most recent update get rolled back based on the way existing upgrades were working? I'm not seeing the new “Rapture Contingent” upgrade, even after clearing cache, restarting my browser, and a soft reset in-game.
wtf? I got the boss down to about 40%, and then randomly got "Victory!" Well whatever, just glad to have the badge so I don't have to play anymore... Started out promising and got worse and worse as I went along.
Enjoyed the game, but seems like you may have some balance issues based on other comments. For my game, I only ever had 1 survivor die (I kept my search party small, 2-3 people), around day 20. I never bothered to buy any of the upgrades, and I never used the rage skill because I kept saving it for something big. Maybe if you can deliver a bit more challenge in the shooting side while making the search system a bit more consistent the game would play the same for more people. Liked the reload assistant, nice idea, but would like a more distinct sound between "gun is ready" and "headshot". Overall enjoyed the game, nice art and fun shooter, just needs a few tweaks. 4/5
There's a differences between challenging and hard to play. This falls mostly in the latter category. Though the art is nice, contrast for obstacles is awful. Personally, I don't like having to depend on sound to play as I usually play everything muted. Chaining together moves frequently becomes unresponsive, as the previous action has to finish first; this means you have to spam buttons to make sure it registers. Haven't made it to level 5, but level 4 seems to be way too long; I keep losing mostly because I get disinterested and lose focus.
The original definitely suffered when all the pieces were free, but I think the automatic snapping is a step too far. What about an option for the user to fix any segment in its current location, whether it's right or not? That might be a good balance on gameplay and difficulty.
I got completely stuck on the last level after picking some bad perks. An option to respec would be nice. However, you can still get the hard badge if you use cheats. Just complete all the challenges and save, then reload your game.
PvP matchmaking is really poor; I'm consistently matched against players/teams much stronger than me. Quickjoining 2v2 should avoid putting you back in a room you just left so you can find a new teammate.
Way too much text in the beginning, the tutorial is incredibly hard to follow. I managed to spend materials in buildings while they were being built, got nothing, and now the tutorial is stuck where I need to make a decorative sword and can't.
I love the presentation, the live action videos are a really nice touch. My problem is, the gameplay feels tacked on. I can't shoot to save my life. It feels like a dumbed down version of New Star Soccer. If the gameplay was more enjoyable, I'd definitely stick around; as it stands I'm probably done with this game.
It'd be nice to have a buffer screen between loading and the start of a day. Sometimes I forget and start looking at something else while the game loads, and come back to see I missed an entire day.
For KISS awards: once you get to the 3rd zone, you can use the cranes to make mobile platforms out of just 3 connections (or add a few more for strength). This should get you 18 KISS awards (zone 3 levels 3 & 16 have no cranes). The only trick is getting your guy onto the platform and keeping him from sliding off.
I really wanted to like this, but the whole timed round ruined it for me. If you had an option to do regular old stroke play, I think I'd come back. Otherwise, I'll just let these badges go...
I'd like to point out that there are only slightly more people who have the impossible badge (5,608 at this posting) than people who have summited Mt. Everest (5,104 as of 2010). Take from that what you will...
