On a mac, either using firefox or safari i cannot scroll through the list of ingredients or recipes, makes the game not really playable after 10 minutes ....
BUG Report: OK I found why i got stuck into mining. I did not unlock the basic/options buttons but did unlock items, went into that and got stuck. You should make sure basic/options is unlocked before items !
The game appears nice, at first. But as soon as you're into raising an adult it becomes ways too demanding (in terms of patience). That'll require some major redesign of the various costs.
