It seems like it's possible to get 0 Talent, which then prevents you from ever getting any exp, which then prevents you from gaining rank and thus you can't use the Dark Circle to change your talent.
So it seems like you get 0 exp against things 9 levels lower than you, negative exp against things 10 levels lower and then the exp goes back to positive for things 11 or more levels lower. This positive exp caps at 40 though but it means that there's times when it's better to camp the level 1-5 area than fight in the harder areas.
@Dkpure Your Iron setup was better than mine though, so I'm borrowing it with a few tweaks. My fourth row is: Spider King, Death Knight, Death Knight, Spider King.
@Dkpure That wood grind is on the right idea but there's some improvements you can do. Swap out all the Starfires for Meat since Meat is equivalent to Starfire on 12 producers and you're only running 8. Swap the Investor Dogs for Investor Imps. It's basically a wash between the two, but with Imp being Tier 1, it's easier to get and easier to level. Level 4 Imp = Level 3 Dog but costs a lot less to get. And finally, replace a corner Imp/Dog on the bottom row with a Watchtower.
Had an epic duel between my level 11 sneaky priest and a vampire. Every time the vampire charged my priest, my priest would just drop a dummy and sneak away. While my priest was healing himself, the vampire would life leech off of the dummy. The fight was just going on forever, but since it was a duel, there's no way to run away. My suggestion, for the optional duels please replace the flee button with a surrender button.
Thank you for reporting the issue. If the fight takes long enough it'll end as a draw. But in your it didn't trigger, which is a bug. We'll work on the fix.
I like the concept of the game though it really could use a little polishing. Not all the clicks register when trying to select spells/spears/axes and spells and potions don't reset until you rest, even if you've won a battle. If you fixed these up and maybe added a save system, this would be a great little game!
Hellswrath is found in the City of the Dead.
When you combine items, there are different coefficients used on each stat. For example, the attack damage of a combined item is 1x the first slot + 0.5x the second slot. Crit chance just happens to be 0.5x the first slot and 0.25x the second slot, which is the lowest multiplier of any item type.
Two bugs:
1) Achievements don't unlock until you've gone 1 past the required amount. For example you need 3 out of 2 heroes unlocked to get the first hero unlocking achievement. This is a problem at 6 out of 6.
2) Every time you clear wave 5, the selected hero swaps back to the first one. This greatly interferes with click damage.
Hello, Leinis!
On the first bug: this is an atypical case, probably somewhere an error occurs. Please describe this case on the forum in this thread: http://www.kongregate.com/forums/618672-ascent/topics/676914-guide-what-kind-of-buttons-or-where-to-reap (must specify ID from the upper-left corner of the screen the title page of the game).
We will sort out the essence and figure out how to fix it!
On the second point: yes, indeed, for transition to the next level, the selection of a character is moved to the central hero of the first line. This is due to the peculiarities of generation enemies hate (it is assumed that the slot holds the leading character-tank). Since it can really inconvenience the players, we will discuss the possibility of changing the system in future updates!
Thank you for your vigilance!
I haven't played this game in a few days but when I checked in to see any new features, I found that my inventory is now only has one of each item. And when I try to pick up a second copy of an item, it just disappears.
Found a few rather inconvenient bugs. The hotkeys for Passing/Resting and Removing Buffs aren't working. This is quite bad when there's no manual way to remove something like a shield buff that eats up Flux. Also sometimes an input will get stuck which kinda sucks with passing. I had a level 12 character die to an Alpaca cause he decided to take a nap... But other than the bugs, the game is pretty great!
You can remove permanent buffs by default with the 'c' key. As for passing/resting not working, that's very odd, specially if all other hotkeys are working. Have you tried binding it to a different key in the options menu? if that doesn't work, you could try clicking the resting/pass turn button on the bottom-right corner of the screen. Hopefully you find a solution.
Thanks for explaining how this happens.
