Proper homage to earlier rocket launching, truck blasting games, but still not particularly enjoyable. It didn't seem like there was very much strategy in the game other than placing your bombs correctly, hoping you made a good choice in your placement, but most importantly grinding and upgrading. Any game that is so dependent on those two key things isn't a very good game on its own merits, in my opinion.
Also, I think the recent change of terraforming's cost was a good idea. Right now it's low enough to be used freely, but high enough so it isn't total mindless expansion. Some of the other effects, though, I think should be reduced slightly.
Thank you, yes I think the increase helps to use the terraform wisely. Just updated with 'back to title' option in menus also some minor bug fixes on saves and balancing :D
There were definitely a number of flaws in this game which reduced strategy greatly, but overall I'm finding this very enjoyable. Good concept, though obviously not original nor meant to be original, and the gameplay was fairly straightforward and immersing. Like many others have said, though, an option to scroll out would have been really helpful.
(pt. 2) I wasn't a big fan of Jack, either, though I liked the therapist and the other girl's boyfriend was a hilarious character. Overall, though, the story wasn't interesting to me. The symbolism was very strong and prevalent, though, and that was definitely admirable.
Good puzzle-platformers are always interesting, and this one was particularly innovative. It was very satisfying to see that new elements that affected the gameplay were being introduced at a fast, but reasonable pace. The storyline itself was not particularly engaging to me, and I suppose it's supposed to be translatable to a certain demographic. However, storyline and setting in a game is already a very important element to me, which means inherently I like those portrayed in typical flash games. This was a bit of a reach, but in a direction I suppose I just don't connect to very well. The protagonist's personality just seemed very forced, her perpetual gloominess, introspective nature and destructive habits were very cliched.
And a tip for players: Like any maze, moving backwards makes it easier to solve. Find the key you need, and work backwards until your reach to yourself, then follow that path. It's the best strategy I've found for this game.
This is one of the most enjoyable, and elusive games that I have played on Kongregate. Everything about it comes together perfectly and harmoniously; the music which is at one second quiet and relaxing, and the next intense and dynamic, the sleek, simple design, and the engaging, puzzling gameplay. One of the best puzzles I've had the opportunity to solve. I love the run-of-the-mill zombie fighting games or silly, flashy armorgames games, but this is really the type of flash game we need to support on Kongregate.
I like this game for the most part, though it has a couple of big flaws. The way its scored, as well as how the trophies work force the player to play this game fairly methodically, which makes additions like the jumping enemies seem like a frustrating, pointless addition. The items counter that to an extent, however. For the most part I thought this game was well made, and enjoyable.
Final fantasy ripoff!!!1
But really, what can I say? You can go into how well done the entire series is, but really it just boils down to the fact that these games are really, really enjoyable.
This game was a big letdown. I was actually pretty exciting to see a roller-coaster flash game here on Kongregate, as I've always liked the roller coaster tycoon series. What first of all annoyed me is that there wasn't a free-for-all level editor for making these, without any objective. That, in my opinion, would have been the best part of the game. The levels themselves were pretty boring and rather than having a fun difficulty they were pretty tedious, and more or less about dealing with the embarrassingly bad physics of the game. So yeah, too bad, this game had pretty great potential but fell short IMO.
Boring by the tenth level. Really not that much of a change from the sequels, I'm not sure why anybody would want to play it. I think it would have been much better if you added a lot more to the game other than a couple of items you can select.
One of the best flash games I've played in a while. Very simple and very, very fun. The upgrades and medals were fantastic, and the variety of characters mixed with it's awesome design made this game awesome. Favorited. :)
