From a game dev's perspective, I really find the balance remarkable. It always feels like a decent challenge as you're leveling, while not being frustratingly difficult. Balance is IMO the hardest aspect of game dev and you crushed it. Well done guys!
Love this game, but how do I change leaders? Every time I click "change leader", it tells me "You must be logged in to save your progess online". I'm logged in on Kongregate, is there another in-game login?
I this it's very well put together. The art style is beautiful, and the concept is fun. However, it's difficult for me to tell that the gears are meshing when I place them, or if they are just really close. There is an OCD part of me that wishes they really meshed well together, it would be much more satisfying for me.
I played for about 15 minutes and never had any items that incoming customers wanted... Perhaps I shouldn't have hired the sorceress to start? Anyway, after 10 lost sales, closed the browser. It would be nice if the early customers gave me any sense of achievement instead of 10 failures in a row.
I've posted an official walkthrough here: http://bit.ly/TalesworthAdventureSolution - It contains the official solutions. Some of the posted walkthroughs contain pre-patch solutions. Please bump this.
Great job on your first game! Couple suggestions: Make your hitbox smaller on your sprites instead of using the whole movieclip for collision detection. Also, the jumping fish would look a lot better as an animated sprite instead of as the stop motion method. Again, grats on completing it, that's the hardest part.
Thanks MrJinx, it's very cool to hear that from the creator of Talesworth Arena :) (loved the game back in the Flash glory days!)
