I have a feeling that the people who say the controls suck are just bad at the game. While exercising any sort of caution, the small amount of slide shouldn't lead to your death unless you try to stop JUST before a trap. If you are any kind of smart, you'll stop before you get anywhere near it. Are the controls perfect? No, but if you are dying a lot because 'of the controls' then the controls are not the problem.

Some keyboards ghost with wasd, some with the arrow keys, some dont ghost at all. It varies by keyboard.
Zlah, the plants need room to grow. If theres not enough room, they wont grow. thats probably why. the big plants need 4 tiles open to grow, and the small ones need 2 tiles
