i find it clever, that he creates a pretty dodgy tutorial, which makes you want to click "next" repetitively, and then you find yourself clicking the link to his games, because it is in the same place where the "next" arrow was.
Enemies disappeared, firing sounds continue. I put my mouse over something and i see its firing range, but when i move my mouse away, the green firing range doesn't disappear... now i have lots of those green firing ranges... lots of sound, but nothing else is happening...
I made something like this once... It never turned into a game, and i used 2d squares (as2) and changed their width and depth...

@timster -> FlashDevelop is a start, but if you find it too hard you could check out Game Maker (www.yoyogames.com), though that isn't flash programming... :|
