Secretariat took the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes.

Secretariat is the only non-human athlete to be included on Sport’s Illustrated’s 1999 list of the top 100 athletes of the last hundred years for achieving one of the most sought-after titles in sports.
A dog will bring a stick back to it’s lazy owner, but there is no greater companionship than that between a human and a horse- he will run for you until his heart stops beating, and his legs crumble beneath you.
Ron Turcotte, the jockey who rode Secretariat to victory said. “I finally had to turn to see where the other horses were. I know this sounds crazy, but the horse did it by himself. I was along for the ride.”
