Wow! What can I say about this game!?
First: +for using Flixel :)
This game has probably some of the best 'game feel' in a in-browser game I've ever felt. While I would love to be able to play with a gamepad, I completely understand the limitation, and I applaud the steps taken to make the keyboard usable.
The game is much more puzzle than 'jump and shoot' style, which makes it interesting, and the mechanics lend themselves perfectly to the gameplay and solving puzzles.
While I think the graphics could have used a little more polish - or at least spent some time making them more cohesive (some assets are pixel-style, some aren't, etc) - The other polish (zoom-in, slow-motion, and replay modes) are superb.
It's a really great game and I think it needs a lot more attention.
Have you considered making a new version as a standalone download game? Maybe using Haxe or something similar?
Thanks everyone who's commented that they like the game. I may decide to actually finish it someday. And thanks to the support from you guys on the 'stolen' issue... I'm still waiting to hear from Kongrate as to what's going to happen... so far, no word... :(
The game was an entry for a contest on TIGSource which had 2 parts: first, people made art, music, sounds, etc and submitted them. In part 2 people took those assets and made a game in a limited amount of time - without making any assets of your own. So the graphics are all from the collection of possible assets submitted in Part I - Mad God used the same ones, as did several other entries. Due to the limited time to make the game, there are bugs, glitches, and a serious lack of polish ("You Win" is the only ending you get :P) As I only really intended this as an experiment, I never had any intention of going back and tweaking it or polishing it up... at least, not right now. I had thought about adding some Kong API stuff for badges or whatever and re-releasing it in the future, but this version was submitted without my consent or knowledge, and "Freegames247" is in no way affiliated with me.
