It's a great start for a first game. It needs quite a bit though before I would feel like it's a completed project. (1) Title screen, (2) options with music and sound dials, (3) in-game sounds, (4) level screens, (5) a tutorial (or at least something to tell me all the controls - even if I am able to figure it out on my own), (6) try to use game music (there's all kinds of free music out there) to avoid copyright issues. However, it has quite a bit going for it: (1) responsive controls, (2) decent graphics, (3) actually HAS sound (even if I'm not a fan of it) which a lot of first time games don't have, (4) cool effects (the dirt and explosion). You could do a lot with what you've already started here. Good job!

I have to say, the pace requires some waiting, but I don't ever feel like the next tier is so far out of reach that I may just forget the game. The one thing I would like to see is individual pages for the upgrades instead of the scroll bar. That way I don't feel like I may have missed something. Otherwise, great job HHG!

The Daily Challenge for Miami makes me sad. 1) Miami has NO hills, you used the map for Rio. 2) The launch pad in Cape Canaveral is almost 200 miles to the North. 3) It's certainly not stuck in the 80's, you're basing that completely on Miami Vice.

I think the premise of this game is interesting. The animation is terrific and the graphics are good. The sound is muffled to me. I would've liked to have tried more, but honestly, I could not get through the opening levels. The game-play feels VERY choppy. I don't mind tile games, but I get to see three seconds of game before the next thing is loading. When the intro is that choppy, my expectation of the later levels in the game becomes "it's only going to get worse." Also, I don't mind some things being auto, but I like to actually play the game myself. I'm guessing that this changes as you progress through the game and get new abilities/powers/etc that you have to balance... But I don't really care for a game that plays itself.

Overall, the game has some potential. I love turn-based gaming because it means I choose to play at my own pace, but this game is comatose. 1) Speed it up. You won't gain new player-base by making them wait forever to get through low-level questing. 2) Settings? I like to turn off sound and music. I also like to ADJUST sound and music. And graphics. Etc. Right now it's just music/sound on/off, which is like having no options at all. 3) More item variety without going crazy. Power difference between items is clear... but cost doesn't seem to correlate. I don't mind "paying" more gold for better - as long as I can grind the gold. Do both - make the better weapon stronger and its cost a little higher. Obviously diamond will be better. 4) POV feels boxed in. Graphics should mesh, but this feels stuffy to me; squeezing too much in. Maybe make a side-menu and pull up entire screens instead of these little windows and borders.

The animations are interesting, but a bit choppy. Sounds that play over and over when I hover over buttons get a little irritating. The storyline is interesting when I get to read it, but the slow energy regen makes it difficult to get through it. A fair variety of items/weapons/armors without being ridiculous, but it'd be nice to have a little bit more than some recolors on the armor. A few suggestions on combat: rather than having the entire combat bar appear when the turn comes up, just have individual buttons light up/show availability. At some point, I will have seen the animations for combat. I would like to be able to start making decisions about which monster to attack first, which has a special skill I'd like to be aware of, etc. I'd suggest the ability to turn off the animations, and the ability to look at enemy stats DURING animations. Needs volume controls. It's either loud or off, and I like to be able to tone it down to a softer volume. Controls are nice and smooth. Very glad you have an option to reduce the particles, too many give me a headache, so thanks for that. A challenging but rewarding game.
