I have been waiting a long time for a sniping game that was a cut above what everyone else has been doing. This one really caught my attention with its intricate storyline and well drawn action scenes, daring to go above what others have failed to do. I don't think of this as "sexist", I think of this as a story from a fictional character's point of view. I like how objectives are not passed off as briefings, and are somehow connected to the story. Music is also fitting. Overall a well done game that is unique, and I cannot wait for the sequel.
Woot, beat the entire game on my first try with 508.9 Million score. :D Good controls, interesting cash spending scheme (though sometimes I kept hitting "Continue" instead of "Buy" by mistake), great music, and simple interface really sell this wonderful game.
Based on the difficulty for the first eight or nine levels, I was hoping that there would be a lot more levels than twelve to really test the brain. The 10th level seemed out of place compared to the 11th and 12th one - it seemed easier to call functions within another function, compared to repeating functions with redundant elements.
Also on the congratulations screen, I noticed the very last sentence reads "Programming isn't for everyone so". Is it just me, or is there something missing to that sentence?
Other than that, I enjoyed this little brain teaser and how it tested my limits.
Woot, finished it from start to finish without any game over/continues. The black armoured soldiers remind me of Black Mesa. :D Anyways, the only thing that I think this game is missing is background music. Other than that, excellent graphics, very detailled gameplay, lots of variety of secrets and enemies, and can be challenging at times.
I'm not sue if anyone experienced this bug, but my gun suddenly stops shooting intermittently on Level 3 in the area between the kamikaze bots and the jetpack machinegunners. More precisely it seems to happen on the flatbed (between the three bombs and the grey crate). When I leave that area, my weapons work normally. No, I'm not using a Mac, and am using Firefox. I've been trying to replicate the bug, but sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. It happens not only when walking on the ground, but sometimes when airborne.
Unfortunately the best tactic in most situations is simply moving right. It would be interesting if there was more than just holding the right key down to plow through people and buildings.
Highway has been significantly improved, I haven't seen any air-to-base units in it in my two playthroughs. And what does the "Money" stat for heroes do? Does it mean that it increases the chance of getting more money if a hero kills it, or is it something else? Also, what does "provocate" supposed to do? I know that "provocate" means "to provoke", but what am I provoking the enemies to do?
Other than that, so far so good. Maybe I might write some detailed comments later.
It's quite unfair if air units skip directly from start to finish when the start and finish points are only a couple of steps away from each other and there's not enough room to build many defenses to cover it (Example: Highway)
The movement is quite slow. Plus if enemies are coming to you, it would be a disadvantage to move forward, as you'll end up closer to the enemies with less time to react. With no reload feature, the gameplay simply turns into a bunch of clicking. There's more that can be done to polish this up, to make it feel more intense. Spelling and grammar checking would also be appreciated.
TIP: For the last part of Level 5 boss (last part with the moving bar), you first need to watch for which one of the six glows red. Then tap the arrow key that corresponds to his approximate position (was that ninja closer to the left, middle, or right?) Based on what I've experienced, I found that there are some bugs in the game: ninja uses flashbang offscreen before entering, dead ninjas running through the gate, the word "IMPACT" looking like "MPACT" (I believe that's what it was supposed to be). However it is a playable game and a fair test of typing skills and reaction time, although I doubt many of these words would be used often in daily vocabulary.
They site-locked the game. Any attempts to steal it and load it up on other websites without permission will cause massive fail (aka game will not start). Some idiot tried the same thing with Last Stand 2 a few days ago.
I find that this game involves quite a lot of luck. I didn't like the hittesting and bouncing off the walls at times. What made me successful in getting this badge was the "Avoid Green - Like Broccoli" minigame. If you are lucky enough to have the three balls travel together in a bunch, it becomes easy to avoid the ball by over or under the bunch. I also find that minigame does not scale according to speed. But at 7x multiplier, the entering and exiting minigame actions seem to lag up, as if it wanted to crash. Another note: I haven't been able to replicate the perpetual-falling-through-floor glitch though, so I'm not sure how that works. One last tip for anyone who's doing that green peg on a stick that rotates past a red ball: I find that it's safer to stick at the bottom, but you must move up to the center at the fifth rotation, or the red ball will catch you on the bottom. After the fifth rotation, move back down, away from the center.
Played it through and got all the badges on first try. The system of gathering debris and power pods is okay, although it is tough to do on later levels. I would have to say that this game suffers from some of the problems that plagued Zunderfury (enemies moving offscreen, enemies spawning on top of you). The music could have been better, less repeated bom bom bom bom sounds would be appreciated. Thankfully the powerups play a key role in surviving and keeping the game playable. The environment seems too small to be able to safely dodge most particles. Or perhaps the ship is just a bit too big? I haven't felt any problems with controls or badges. Overall an okay game, but not really exceptional.
A couple of questions: What's the button to reset or to go back to the main menu? Also, what purpose does the baby in the basket serve? (I got it open, but the ball doesn't go in when it passes over it for some reason.) The music is alright, though I was hoping for a couple more tracks to listen to. More importantly, this pinball game lacks a lot of bells and whistles that most arcade pinball games have that would otherwise keep players occupied for a little while longer.
I enjoyed it at first, but started to get tired of it around Level 13. I find that the repair/shield limit is too low by then, plus the catapults have limited usefulness. What bugged me was that the catapults (started at 1 kill to upgrade, then became 2 kills to upgrade after a certain threshold) did not reset to 1 kill per catapult upgrade if a catapult was lost and replaced. I'm really looking for more to keep me occupied, but this has a great start.
