How sad. I started this game with high hopes. It introduced it's concept and game-play well with a few great twists on well-worn themes regarding rpg stereotypes (loved the first quest for Ten Rats!!!).
Unfortunately, there were some bits and pieces in Russian which I unfortunately cannot read, but it did not get in the way of game-play initially. I have now had (I think) my second quest from Alice. It is totally in Russian, it is also Russian in my journal ... so I do not know what I need to do. This is a game-breaker for me. I was willing to forego all team quests due to chat being full of Russian-speaking players, but to be unable to understand what the quest is asking for means I cannot progress.
Such a pity the developers were not able to get the person that translated most of the beginning to continue to do so as this had the potential to be an excellent game indeed.
I have had my first try and like many others have loved how different, unique even the game is. I have enjoyed the puzzles so far but now do feel frustrated not being able to save before leaving without being able to finish.
Keep up the good work though ... I am really impressed by how much this stands out within the genre.
I want to apologise to my friends in-game - as the rooms no longer load I have not been tempted to log in daily - I will check in weekly only for a few weeks - if anyone knows of a similar game on kong ... please message me :)
Not my sort of game as I prefer to explore and quest ... however, an atmospheric introduction and lots of blood in-game :)
I have not rated as it would not be fair to the game.
I have found three objects, used one, and several puzzles I am unable to complete yet. The game seems fine, but a little tricky for me at the moment. It is easy to find your way around etc. However, the English in the introduction has a number of mistakes. If you enjoy adventure games, don't let this put you off as it seems to me to be a fun little game for those that like this type of game.
Like many others I would love the opportunity to also see it forwards afterwards .... this was a beautiful little game which in a few moments turns your assumptions on it's head! Brilliant and thank you.
This was stupendous, addictive and weirdly relaxing and the story is really intriguing too! Am in the process of signing up to your forum too which is something I very rarely do!
Well done mate :)
Grrr ... can't leave the run-down shack but can't see what to do next. Not keen on watching the walkthrough because of spoilers - could someone give me a hint which door I might need to check. think it might be the skeleton but can't seem to do anything there???
How surprising to see I lasted so long ... I am still unsure if I am supposed to be aiming just ahead to cut them off, but it worked up until 1940 :( I like the 'feel' of the graphics being almost vintage and do see why the planes have to be the colours they are so you can see them, but it does jar ever so slightly. Great game for when you have a few minutes and the promotions are great, just a pity I have to stop at corporal :(
This is soooo not my sort of game so why oh why is it so compulsive??? I have enjoyed getting him up to level 25 so far and the pumpkin search for Hallowe'en is a brilliant idea! Keep up the good work :)
Like everyone-else here, I have been amazed at the concept and the way it makes my brain work. I like the simple graphics, but then I quite like old skool rpg pixellated stuff *shrugs* ... so in my opinion, the simplicity of the game's style allows the focus to be on the words and the puzzles.
Having said that, I have got stuck but perhaps it is because it is not even seven on a Sunday morning. Just do not know how to avoid the void :s (Sorry about the pun).
I was intrigued because of the name and the art ... you pulled me in to playing even though it is not my usual thing ... because I am appalling at this sort of puzzle and usually have to have the walkthrough screenshot in front of me and still have multiple tries.
Despite this I had a great time until level 7 when I got stuck. Not your fault, as I said. But it was enough to be able to comment how much I loved the change in arrow design between levels etc.
I am using Opera 11.52 with Flash version 11+ ~ if anyone is not sure if their flash plug-in is up-to-date just put flash version into your search engine (like google) and you should get Adobe's test page.
I am giving you a 4 because this looks like a great little game for those who like this sort of puzzle and your graphics really work with it. Plus you clearly care about your players :)
PS - I agree with Benzy92 *winks*
Thanks, and that is one thing that was/did worry me when I originally made it, it can get quite hard even given such a simple concept. I was thinking of maybe giving a walkthrough of how to do all the levels, or maybe just unlocking all the levels at some point so everyone can see them all, but then didn't want to take away from the people who did end up actually solving it all =P
Whilst this is not my usual type of game the graphics intrigued me. I like sockhop drove off the screen and could not get back ... so I suspect my keyboard control and hand to eye co-ordination rule me out of this game sadly :(
I loved those role-playing books in the eighties ... this is very short so far so difficult to compare but it did make me smile. I too liked the death by robe and felt there were too many sudden deaths. I will not spoil the ending but I thought that last bit was written very well and I felt empathy for both heroes. A vast improvement on the prelude and I look forward to a sequel.
Use the Stairs!!!
