CharleyBananas, if there were birds in the falling sequence, the game would be much less balanced considering now that you know where the bananas are, you can collect more than going upward, plus you would have time to adapt to your ridiculous speed when you collide into birds all the time. On the other hand, realistically, the birds would not even manage to slow you down at all. Think of it like this: you are skydiving and a boulder miraculously falls from the sky. Would you slow it down? It's like that.
