@ krafen you can see them when refilling, its just not very obvious. there is a grey bar at the top of the "convert to ..." buttons that acts as a gauge
when you have completed the first part of the game (collected all logs) simply go to a new planet to see the cutscene, this will activate the faction picking screen and allow you to do the daily /weekly/monthly quests
to use bow , first pick up arrow by clicking on it, then press shift and move mouse to point bow (in case anyone else accidentally skipped the tutorial)
you do realize that you don't actually need to like them or follow them to get the stars... just click the buttons and then close the pop up windows ...
