I keep getting stuck in the zelda level. The part with the room with dig dug. I've killed all the monsters but the door wont open and I can't cross the moat in the previous room with just one ladder to get to the next room over there. So I'm stuck. Is the sparkling block the key? If so I can't figure out how.
I would certainly play this often if there were other modes inolved. I could easily see this being a multiplayer experince. A survival mode would not be to bad but I don't know how that would work on a closed map. After beating the game you could unlock these modes so as for players to earn them. As well as a level select see you could play your favorite maps from the campain. I sure hope Xplored explores these options in a possible sequel or update.
Codemasterc here. If I were to describe enough plumber in recipe format it would be: Take a vintage mario game, add some color and character design changes, then sprinkle with P.B winterbottom. That is the basic recipe for this game. Basically Mario but instead of extra lives you get extra plumbers. That's not exactly a bad thing though. It mixes up the gameplay enough to make it interesting while still sticking to its retro roots. However it can be a bit difficult at times to control so many plumbers which can lead to frustraition but it's this extra difficultly that adds to the retro feel. The controls aren't the best but it will get you were you'll need. A word of warning however: You will lose several plumbers and die ALOT! Also while playing the game I couldn't help but to think: Nintendo is going to sue somebody! but i digress.
For the overall experince I give 3 falling doomed plumbers out of 5.
I destroyed a flying enemy in the air,but instead of collecting the items that on me, it fell through me. So I had to fly all the way back down to the ground to collect it. Other that I don't have any problems so far.
Quicktip: Bosses maybe large but you can cut them down to size by takeing out there turrets first. The boss itself will go on the offensive after you do but you'll be glad that it doesn't have it's little helpers.
Quicktip: Once you find a weapon and wingman you like stick with it through the whole episode. Continue to upgrade after every level and you will be shooting down bosses with ease. I prefer classic and rocket myself but try a bunch of combinations until you find the one that fits you best and then stick to it.
funfact:The current all time high score was from someone by the name japabr from brazil with a whopping score of 2,098,144,007 Points! That's over 2 billion! You think you can top that? I like to see you try. My personal challenge to you is to beat that high score.
Quick tip:Choose your ship cards wisely. You can only use two at a time if you don't have unlock. I prefer big green heart and coin magnet. Heart continuely restores a bit of your health while magnet will help increase your wealth. Yes I know I ryhmed.
Finally! I was wondering when this game when get it's own challenge. They even added badges since I last played it. Today is a good day. I'll rate 5 insane bosses out of 5 for the second time.
Push that sparkly block down smarty!
