Good morning and happy 4th of July to everyone! As per request I have made an update that allows you to swap the control setup between A S W D and the arrow keys. This is done by pressing the number 1 or number 2 keys during game-play. Number 1 is the default option with A S W D movement. Press 2 for arrow movement. I wanted to get this out to you guys ASAP so there was not time for me to visually explain this to the player in the tutorial. I would like to also tweak the coin magnet as well since it seems to be a high rated comment. This is tricky because of performance issues so it might take some time to iron out. Also I really would have liked to test the control swap buttons more than this. (poking around player movement code is a bit scary!) Everything seems to be working fine but please let me know if you find any problems with switching controls. Your control switch will save when you return to the vortex. I encourage all of you to play the tutorial!! Please do not be "that guy" who says " I can't kill anything, game is bad!!" Please learn how to play! It takes a minute and a half. Use your SPECIALS!!
As a fellow Stencyl bro I wanted to chime in and say good work. I like the art style and I how you handled the flow of the text. I really like the animated text as well. A fun short game. Keep up the good work! :)
UPDATE! I have reworked the controls to fit what the majority of you guys were wanting. You can now use WASD to control your character. Also the UP button is now jump and SPACE fires the grenade. both of these controls are available to the player at the same time. Also, I have heavily cut back on all debris effects and turned them slightly transparent. They also fade away much faster. Also, I cut back on the screen flash. And yes I am aware that you can exploit the controls by pressing them at the same time to double your speed. I just don't have enough time to create Boolean attributes and create a player controller screen. I hope this version of the game is more enjoyable to you all. Please continue to leave feedback. It does not go unnoticed!!
