Hi I have no idea why you lost your save files but some possible reasons are you are using Firefox and it is not updated or you are using Ubuntu or any other OS other than Windows/OS X. Please try updating your browser but if that doesn't work the developer is working hard on cloud saves now to prevent this from happening in the future! Sorry for the trouble.
