Technology (and the second win condition) is a bit harder to get and use, so I completely understand! If you want a hint: the main thing is upgrading the mining village. There's also another way to get technology, but you may have found it already and otherwise I think you'll figure it out!

The yellow flask is for "technology", which is used in the second way to win. I'll add a tooltip soon to make this a bit clearer.
