@OmegaDoom your comments about pvp are not really accurate, especially for alerts. Teamwork, game knowledge and making good decisions on things like ship composition and choosing when and where to attack all have a big influence on the results of alerts, and to a lesser extent non-alert fights too. With larger numbers of players ship levels have less overall influence, though they are still important of course.
Ok, so for me I found Lightning Gun + Energy Homers + Big Laser got me through pretty much all the levels without problems. Lightning Gun is by far the best gun in the game, the other guns are just there to shoot while you wait for it to recharge. And this combo is good because you virtually never are in a situation where all guns are on cooldown (thanks to Energy Homers). I bought Ricochet (unnecessary) and 4 Homers (useful) early on, and saved enough to buy Duck Gun to kill second boss. Finally I used the Ricochet + Lightning + Shortshield to kill final boss as mentioned in one of the Best comments. There, now you don't have to bust your balls trying to maximise money pickups every level :)
Um....um did this game just taunt me? I died for the 2nd time on lvl 40 in the 5 seconds between completing the lvl and leaving, and some audio kicked in with a guy screaming going "what the f&^%" and then laughing insanely :) Also I think the game isn't as bad as everyone is saying, just check best comments or a strat guide to make sure you don't get stuck buying bad weapons.
For the endless mode badge I found maxing and using lower cooldown spells in all 5 slots was more effective than going, say, all fire + frigid blast (which is what I used to beat the campaign). You get more out of your 5 slots this way and you should be pretty much spamming everything as soon as it's off cooldown. Try to use your spells on groups and use your bow for picking off individual enemies who reach your tower.
Lol, after the area where the platform moves down, if you run to the empty space to the left of the door you get stuck between the walls of previous levels and can't get out. Now I have to restart apparently...the one time I don't make a backup clone too lol
An advantage of using a Magic Weapons + Trojan Horse deck over a Castle to 100 deck is that you win or lose earlier on, so you don't waste as much time getting your castle to 75 or whatever just to get screwed over by the AI later on. With both decks you should be restarting first turn if your starting hand sucks or in the first few turns if AI plays a killer card, but a Trojan Horse win is just faster than Castle to 100...you only need 15 Brick + 20 Weapons + 15 Crystals for the whole combo...often you won't even want to play Builders/Knights/Mage cards if you are close to getting the combo.
I took a different approach than others for the hard campaign. I used an all out assault deck for the early levels, then adjusted it to a deck focused on getting the Magic Weapons + Trojan Horse combo off. Of course it sometimes failed miserably but you only need it to work once for each battle. Didn't take too long to complete Hard Campaign, but now I see I need to go back to an easier level to get the 15 point badge!
Quality of life post for grinding all badges. Skillwise, grab all 5 point skills + Regeneration, then head for Beat Down and Rampage, grabbing Deadly Silent Spell once you meet spellcasters. Maybe some Critical Training before Beat Down. Tooltips messed up, all buff durations listed are in rounds (i.e. sets of 3 actions), and Deadly Silent Spell only has duration 2. Beat Down and Rampage greatly speed up the grind. Maintain Deadly Silent Spell every second round for bosses/tough fights. I spent all Souls upgrading sword, to speed up grind. For sieges you only need basic Soldiers + Catapults, and Dragon later on. Just target the castle with Catapults at all times, easy. Only other pickup you want is shrines on the first side path on Dark Force (final level). Also you don't get to Gosha through storyline, but you can visit from the map any time. Tourney is 10 battles in a row, mana regens between fights but not hp. No need to try final tourney until you've mass-built shrines everywhere.
Right on Fuzzyhair, sounds like this xo nasa person is incredibly selfish, and single-handedly ruining the fun for both sides. They should realise the game is much bigger than just their own personal experience and grow up. Just because you know how to effectively cheat doesn't mean you should.
Came for the badge, stayed non-stop until the end of the game for the sublime storytelling and characters - thanks so much for this amazing game xdanond
Tips for Hard Badge: (1) Max out your team before trying final level. You need them leveled up otherwise last fight drags on and is unwinnable. (2) Use the quests where your allies fight but you don't to farm the gold you need to max allies. It takes ages, so just do something else while allies farm for you.
@TheDarkoko: Yeah all you can do on harder levels is just take more risks and hope to get lucky almost every time. And I agree that this game is less forgiving than Rebuild 2...sequel is definitely an improvement over this still good game :)
Love the atmosphere created by the music, voice acting and point of view...makes the game.
Also found that zooming my browser window in made the game much more fun to play.
When playing the "Save the Merchant" quest during the campaign, once you escort the merchant to the exit and he says goodbye, he leaves his reward on the exit stairs. You can't see it on the map but when you stand there you will see the pick up item button appear. Just fyi :)
And the library card doesn't seem to work as intended; twice I've tried clicking on it while in the Royal Library and both times I just got gold (2 gold just now lol). There isn't any extra button to use library card in the library either.
