It's Kaboom!, only not fun at all. And also....I wouldn't normally worry about the lack of mute, but there's a little music symbol that's just there to taunt me as the horrid horrid music seems to grow ever louder...why won't it muuuuuute?
Oh, my god it would be nice if the tile rules were on screen at least for the first few levels, as I've got no intention of memorising all that without some kind of hands-on to visualise it. Once I'd finally figured out how to place the tiles for stage one, the next few were very easy, but there was just no appeal in carrying on until another tile was added and I would have to try and work that out too, plus 'undo last move' isn't that useful when your mistake is pretty much guaranteed to have been much earlier.
Unexpectedly fun and quite inspired to be so similar to real air hockey and avoid the endless Pong remakes. Shame it's a bit laggy on my computer, and as the other comments say, multiplayer, bigger pitch and more options would make this a really good game.
Really nice - would be more appealing if it had a 'start at level 10' or 'hard mode' as those first levels are a little dull on replay, or at least when you've got the hang of it. Gets a bonus point for a Jilted John reference!
When there's more than one ball on the screen at once it can lead to quite an interesting puzzle. I think one of the easiest ways you could add depth is to increase the value of the balls the longer you keep them on the screen before catching them - you can make it quite a lot more fun that way.
So great, so retro! Reminds me a lot of...ooh, millions of tapeloading classics, only with the wonderful addition of multiple save points.
I think a map would spoil it, but it would be extremely nice to have a hint towards where the next skill might be learnt, as I ended up going round in circles for a while, and it's annoying that she won't learn a skill until she's been to a specific location to realise she needs it (digging, for example - you pass lots of places to dig, and you can find the digging things well before she tells you she needs to learn it...then I forgot where they were and just wandered, sobbing, along the caverns. )
The other negative point is that there's a very slight oddness about the double jumps - but not terrible, and I guess the save points/fast restart make up for it.
Hint for the E stage: notice that the channel going through the rotating circle with the heart on it is *narrower* than the one actually on the circle. If you go up or down slightly you'll smack into the wall, which is why a lot of people think they can't get through it.
Juze, you have too much time on your hands.
I like the way it tells you to 'come play more fantastic games at Doof.com' - I think I've overlooked some fantasticness here. I think the 'oh look, she's only got one leg' joke is a bit dated, sadly.
Well, I slogged my way to the end of the game and it's a bit like Sola Rola mixed in with the estimable Bumping Friuts (sic), but it's not especially fun. It's a shame it often favours the 'randomly rotate the board and hope for the best' style of gameplay.
