This game has potential - but there are a few minor things holding it back. First, the lag - it slows down both the rate of fire from the player and the monsters, but doesn't slow their free fall. This makes it exceedingly more difficult than the game should be. Second, scaling - the upgrades don't scale up fast enough to keep up with the increasing amount of monsters raining down from the sky. Either make the upgrades stronger or cut back on how many monsters fall each level. Third, money - initial gains ares horrible with respect to cost of upgrades; it takes a player several levels before able to buy a decent upgrade. By this time, the game has gotten too difficult for most to make it enjoyable.
Assuming your Perpetuum Mobile is magnet based (due to the dual red/blue coloring), your current engine wouldn't work - both sides should be blue - that way you're pulling the red side of the magnets toward the ground while the blue side of the magnets is being repelled on the other side of the engine.
Great game - enjoyed it a lot, but there are a few issues. 1) Lag - every few minutes the game would come to a near complete halt for 30 - 60 seconds. 2) As others have pointed out, a mini-map is needed - badly. 3) The best character is given at the very beginning - The Stein. He can't be killed. 4) Controlling where your character moves is maddening at times. Sometimes he'll walk the opposite direction or randomly stop ... and turning corners can be more difficult than anything else at times.
There's an issue with level 14 - it glitches out every time I attempt it, not really sure how to describe them though, but here goes ... my team stops dealing/taking damage, the map doesn't move (but the mini-map does), and upon getting everybody to end - the level finishes but no stars are earned and level 15 isn't unlocked. After "failing" level 14 several times because of this, the same issues now arise when I go back and replay level 12 and 13 for a third star.
Great game - devs, you're doing a nice job of updating the game with player suggestions while maintaining the feel of your original game. I have come across a glitch though - the ice hellion will have a ghost join the boss fight a few seconds after he has already come out. The ghost resets his health and both hellions attacks deal damage. Cavalry has over 800hp - I counted over 1k before casting a fireball (an additional ~250 damage) to finish it off. 2 minor suggestions though: 1) The ability to reset one's skill tree - even if it costs an increasing amount of gold each time, well worth it if you get stuck on a level and need to alter your skills to better your odds. 2) HP bars for mobs with health over 750 hp.
Hey, thanks for the comments! You can reset your talent tree at the Blacksmith! It's the bottom button on the menu. As for HP bars, they may eventually be put in. New update is coming today with a ton of new features!
It took me a bit, but I realized why I'm having such a difficult time with the game now - before talent points were universal, players occasionally got 2 points (now we only get 1) per level. Those extra points really made a huge difference. Previously, I didn't fail to make 3 stars on the first try til level 6 - now, I can't even pass level 3.
Yea, the new system may make the game a bit more difficult. The main reason we had it restricted at first was to make things a bit more streamlined and make sure players would actually be able to beat the game. The game is still possible, however! Split your talents up just as you would if you were playing on the old system. Level up, place one in Ice tree. Level up, place one in Demon tree. Albeit, you'll be 1 talent short on some levels, but you'll still get almost the same effect. I like to get Fireball, Frigid Blast and Plague Bane all by level 3. Frigid Blast can be used to combo enemies incredibly well by pushing/grouping them together and then hitting them with a Fireball and/or Plague Bane. Passives also come in handy, such as the Lively spell in the Fire tree! Keep experimenting! Make sure you're spending your gold at the Blacksmith as well, those upgrades truly come in handy.
After playing for a few hours, here are my suggestions: 1. Better chance at gaining more territory - this has been a HUGE bottleneck for me. In the 100+ encounters I've had, I've only gained land once. 2. Because you can't continually upgrade storage capacities (due to territory restrictions), gold requirements for most upgrades become unobtainable after a few upgrades. 3. After spending an inane amount of time clicking for farming/studying/training, auto-fire in combat would be nice (or at least an option for auto-fire for those whose fingers feel like they're going to fall off). 4. The ability to fire/kill/banish/remove (whatever you wish to call it) the farmers/scholars/soldiers would be nice - without a greater influx of land, gaining them via fights upsets population balances. I gain my max amount of food in >2 min, but have to wait almost 30 min before my knowledge nears capacity.
The game's really fun and enjoyable ... but my favorite thing about this game is the developer. LAN14N is actually listening to player feedback and tweaking the game to make it even better - a big kudos to him for that :)
I'm enjoying the game a lot ... but I have a tiny gripe: the positioning of the chess pieces when you battle for a potential ally. Based on the point scale system for chess, the order should be Pawn -> Knight -> Bishop -> Rook -> King.
Thank you for streamlining the start to battles - now can you shorten the wait period between combos ending and the end screen for battles appear? Also, there appears to be a bug, I can't enter legion fights after the 20th wave.
I can understand why there isn't a speed up button (standard with TD's) - however, giants + regular mobs makes tower targeting a nightmare. A simple addition of targeting options for towers would make the game a little better (imo - and I say "a little better" because the game's already pretty great as is).
The game is laggy ... the soldiers are poor ... the upgrades are slightly too expensive for what you earn ... the aim is horrible ... there's no coin magnet ... the coins fade away too quickly ... when switching between weapons, the "defender" will pump fake for a while before using the weapon ... the rocket's useless ... the hedgehog's useless ... the overall theme is of poor taste. So why can't I stop playing??
dude - I'm glad to see the dev listened and implemented some changes ... made a good game awesome! The music adds a wonderfully nerve-wrecking feel to the game - well done! Multiple levels would make this game even better and add a much needed replay value ;)
I'll look into this. Thanks!
