I'm not sure why it won't detect S-A. I thought it wouldn't detect fast repeating notes like S-S. S-A should work regardless. I apologize if it didn't work well.

No, it's not that you have to read the instructions. It's that the Flash movie lost focus and it didn't pick up any key strokes. This isn't a bug and some people reported this already. All you have to do is CLICK THE FLASH MOVIE AFTER YOU CLICK START and it should work.
I have a new version which includes this already. If you fid any bugs, please let me know!
