Description

Beethro has managed to clear the dreaded living tar and truncate those serpents but in this job one should never feel too good about oneself...

----

Beethro Budkin, fifth-generation professional dungeon exterminator, was hired by King Dugan to clear the king's multi-level dungeon of a large monster infestation. Beethro charges by the room, and as a professional, he is contract-bound to clear all the monsters from each and every room in the dungeon to get paid. The only weapon Beethro needs to do his job is a Really Big Sword(tm), which will defeat almost any monster in a single hit.

Your objective is to clear each level of King Dugan's Dungeon of monsters. This feat can be accomplished using only your Really Big Sword(tm) and your wits. Each room is a separate area that has to be cleared in a single session. Should you leave a room without completely clearing it, it will be restored to its initial state when you return.

Those brave enough can compete for the best score (least number of moves) in each room against other players. If you create an account on our forums and provide the CaravelNet details in the options menu (these can be retrieved on your forum profile), your scores will be submitted to the leaderboards. These will last for two weeks, unless you purchase a CaravelNet subscription, in which case your scores will be kept forever. If you do not type in the details, you will be only notified what place your score would've attained.

So... some context here. This is a Flash port of a fairly dated computer game. To reduce the size of the game, they split it up into several parts. (This is part 3, corresponding to floors 9-12.) Each floor is themed, and floor 9 happens to be the "lure roaches into switch door areas" floor. It also explains the unusual difficulty at the start.

Controls are a bit cumbersome, especially since we can't move diagonals w/ the arrow keys.

I actually bothered solving the "three bottles" puzzle in the prologue, and it was easier than I thought it would be.

(Beethro has 3 bottles, one 10-cup sized, another 5-cup sized and the last is 2-cup sized. He wants to drink exactly 4-cup amount of the tea, of which the 10-cup sized bottle is currently full with, uninterruptedly)

(Solution: 1) Fill the 2-cup sized bottle, leaving 8 cups in the 1st bottle and 2 cups in this 3rd bottle.
2) Having measured 2 cups of tea, pour the 2 cups of tea in the 3rd bottle to the 2nd, so the bottles contain 8, 2, and 0 cups of tea
3) Repeat steps 1 and 2, (pour 1 to 3 until full, then pour 3 to 2), and you have 6,4,0. Drink bottle 2.)

Now I really wonder how he could've gotten through all these puzzles so far, as some rooms are really difficulty/tricky.

Potential for a good game but the controls suck
