Description
Build a crossword. Race to clear your letters.
Clackle is a fast-paced word puzzle with no turns and no fixed board. Arrange your letter tiles into a connected crossword, check your words, and keep building until every letter is on the table.
Make Speed Run your daily challenge: beat your personal best and climb the weekly and all-time leaderboards. Different rule settings have their own records, so there is always another time to chase.
Learn the controls by playing a guided first run, challenge computer opponents in Battle the Flock, explore 400 Journey puzzles, or take on three-minute Sprints. Invite friends to a live battle for two to eight players, where everyone builds at the same time.
Tap, drag, shuffle, and rethink your crossings. When a stubborn letter gets in the way, use Clunk to trade it for a fresh challenge.
Age suitability: 13+. English language. Online play includes player-chosen usernames and shared word boards.

How to Play
Tap or click a tray letter, then a square to place it. You can also drag a letter directly into place.
Desktop: type a letter to select a matching tile from the tray, then click its destination. Each letter needs its own placement. Press Enter or Return, or click Check, to check your crossword.
Make one connected crossword with valid words across and down. A successful Check saves the board. A failed Check restores the last accepted tile positions and returns unchecked tiles to the end of the tray.
Tap two tray letters to swap them, or drag a tray letter to insert it elsewhere. In a scrolling tray, hold before dragging to reorder; swipe to browse. Shuffle rearranges the tray. Tray moves animate like grid moves.
Select a tray letter and use Clunk to exchange it; the penalty is shown for the current mode. Choose Run It Back to start another attempt.
Desktop group selection: hold Shift and drag a box around the tiles. Drag the group; click outside the box to clear it.
Touch group selection: HOLD two positions on the grid with two fingers. HOLD until the box appears. Lift fingers. Drag the group. Tap outside the box to clear it. Pinch to zoom.
At the end of a battle, choose View everyoneâs grids to inspect the completed crosswords.
