A board game emulator and 3d Tactics Game Creation software created with Unity. In a month. Off and on. My first Unity game and my first Kongregate game. Go easy.
This version (v0.9 - 110215:checker) features SinglePlayer mode, Mouse-based controls, Square-based boards, XML Reader to build your own games, Checkered or Individual Tile textures, Piece team or type textures, VIP rules, Last Man Standing rules, and plenty of textures to choose from. External web-based level editor.
Version 1 - (110430:pawn) will feature everything I didn't get to: A Multiplayer lobby, Built-in chat, En passant, Checkmate rules, Piece drops, Hex-based boards, Draws, Music player, Custom splash screens, More movement types, Unmoved piece indicators, Particle/Camera fixes, Keyboard-based controls.
Version 2 - (110630:knight) will also feature: Up to 8 players, AI opponents, Sound effects, Line captures, Line/Seize games, Promotion choice, Last moved piece highlight, Triangle-based boards, Piece generators, Customizable skyboxes, XML attributes, Territory, Player ratings, Overworlds, Timers, Customizable win/loss/instruction screens, Obstructions, Items, Rounds, Randomized firework colors, Undo, Preloaders, Better camera control.

Follow the in-game prompts to start or make a game. Scroll the map with WASD or the arrow keys. Right-click to center. Click a square or piece to select it. Move a piece by clicking a highlighted square. Take turns until victory is declared!

It would be better with more customization options, or possibly RPG or RTS elements.

I thank you all for your overwhelming support and encouragement. I know it's not much, but it's all I had done in time for the contest. Having no prior knowledge of Unity3d, I'd say I came pretty far in a month. The game was heavily inspired by ChessForEva's 3d Chess, but uses entirely unique code, gameobjects, and models. I hope people can see the benefit and potential of a game-playing app that lets them build their own tactics games in XML. Specifications and a Javascript Level Builder will be up soon, linked from the "Level Editor" button in the main menu. Thanks Kongregate and Unity3d!
