Idle Forge is a free-to-play blacksmith idle RPG you play right in your browser.
Strike the anvil to forge weapons and armor, then let your Autonomous Forge and apprentices keep producing while you’re away — true idle progression that rewards you every time you return.

Hatch and evolve pets across six families — complete all 90 Beastiary entries for permanent bonuses. Grow a living village with a day/night cycle, weather and hidden secrets. Then climb the Infinite Tower and battle in PvP.

• Deep crafting — fusion, runes, stat rerolls, full optimization
• Beastiary — collect and evolve 90 pets for permanent bonuses

Come si gioca
1. Tap / click the anvil to forge items. Each forge consumes hammers, which regenerate over time — so you always have a reason to come back.
2. Equip the gear you forge to increase your stats. Sell or fuse duplicates.
3. Spend gold in the shop and on upgrades to forge faster and hit harder.
4. Hatch pets from eggs, then fuse and evolve them. Discovering pets fills your Beastiary and grants permanent bonuses.
5. Send your build into the Infinite Tower for turn-based combat and climb as high as you can. Test it against other players in PvP.
6. Come back regularly: your Autonomous Forge and apprentices produce resources while you’re offline. Claim them and keep growing.
Controls: fully playable with mouse (desktop) or touch (mobile).
No keyboard required.

The hard badge requires forge lvl 60. There is no shortcut. Just time.
You're right, and that's by design. The Hard badge is for your first Ascension, which unlocks at forge level 60. Kongregate asks for Hard badges to take a real commitment (up to a few months). Most players reach their first Ascension in about a month. It isn't wasted time. Ascension gives you shards for permanent bonuses that make every later cycle much faster. You also keep your equipped gear, pets, mount, village, titles and Tower record. Tips to get there faster: keep auto-forge running, upgrade the forge level whenever you can, and check the Ready panel (hourglass icon) so nothing goes to waste. Thanks for playing!

Things frequently update slowly, give "not so fast" error messages or don't work. Progression is gated behind forge level. Which broadly makes the optimal thing to save hammers, upgrade everything you can (except multiforge only to 9 to make it cost only 2 per craft), and only make more stuff when you don't have money for an upgrade.
Thanks for the detailed feedback. - "Not so fast" errors: these came from a server-side rate limit that was counting all players together instead of each player separately. It was fixed on September 20, and auto-forge now groups its crafts so it sends far fewer requests. - Multi-Forge: you were right at the time. Levels 5 and 10 used to lower your items per hammer. Since early October they no longer do: level 9 gives 14 items for 2 hammers and level 10 gives 21 for 3, the same yield per hammer with more items per click. Going to max is now never worse. - Forge level gating: forge level is the main progression and opens new features, but it isn't the only path. Ascension, the Tower, gems, pets, guilds and the Bastion War all progress on their own. If something still updates slowly or doesn't work, please use "Report a bug" in the player menu. It reaches me directly and I answer every report. Thanks for playing!

The tutorial overlay is so dark that I barely see the game at all. So the whole tutorial is pointless because you are just clicking glowing buttons against an essentially black background and you still don't know where everything is until the tutorial is over.
Thanks, that's a fair point. The tutorial dims the whole game to highlight one button at a time, and the dimming is too strong: you end up following the glow without seeing where things are. If you skipped it or something is still unclear, the Encyclopedia in the player menu explains every system and where to find it. Thanks for playing!

After a couple days with the game, I've maxed all the upgrades except forge level. And given I am only here for the badge, and forge level now takes hours each level, I'm going to have to revisit this game at least 30 different times to get the badge, and the only gameplay will be to click the upgrade button on forge again each time.
I see the Dev is actively working on things, but my recommendation is to either have time skip items for certain upgrades (i.e. 15mins upgrade time reduction drops in the tower or colossus or whatever), or make forge more engaging and less time-gated (i.e. some sort of item forge mini-game and a consistent 1hour per upgrade after level 20 or something?).
Thanks for the thoughtful feedback, and for sticking with it this far. You're right that the late forge levels are mostly waiting. A few things already cut that time: - Mount (unlocks at forge level 6): each evolution reduces upgrade time. You feed it with horseshoes from fishing. - Guild + Bastion War: holding certain bastions gives your whole guild an upgrade-time reduction for the week. - Prestige upgrades after your first Ascension also speed up the next cycles. Your two ideas are noted. Time-skip drops from the Tower or the Colossus would be an easy fit, and so would a flatter time curve after a certain level. I can't promise when, but they're on my list. Thanks for playing!

UI immediately reminds me of Europe at War, another AI slop game. Gonna be hard convincing people this is a passion project, dev.
Fair enough, first impressions matter. I'm a solo dev and I do use AI tools, for some of the art and for coding help. Every system, every balance number and every fix is still my own decision: the game is updated almost daily, mostly from player reports and the in-game suggestion box. If something specific in the UI feels generic or off, I'd genuinely like to know what. That kind of detail is what I can actually fix. Thanks for giving it a look.
