I see you're new to flash, and don't understand anything(you said something with actionscript 5).
But just keep trying, follow tutorials, and then you'll be able to find out more things yourself(like i'm doing now). to make a button(like Bob the Button)
first press ctrl + n(or go to file -> new)to make a new file. There will probably be alot of things, but for now just click actionscript 2.0.
then draw a button.
then select the whole drawing and do rightclick-convert to symbol(or press f8), and chose the
button option.
if you did it right, when you select it there should appear a blue lined box around it.
now right click it, and go to actions(or press f9).
there's where you have to put actionscript codes. put this on it, i'll give explanation for it too.

on(release){nextFrame();
}

on (release) {nextFrame();}
if - you release mouse button - go to the next frame.
