GeomeTree is a game about not so natural selection. GeomeTree’s are evolving, and it is up to you to pick which should survive. The loses are removed and two new trees are grown based on the survivors genetics. A genetic algorithm mutates the growth genes of the surviving tree to form two new similar trees. Be careful, mutations can often be worse than the original, it may be necessary to keep the same tree several times in a row before finding a better tree.
Built for Ludum Dare #24 48hr challenge.

I like the concept but the game is a bit dull... maybe add different types of mutation besides the #of wood/leaf?

It definatly needs more features (flowers,type,roots etc) to get amusing for a longer time. This ofcourse if you want to change it, cause yea,48 hr challeng...

Thanks for the feedback. I had considered adding a roots system and having growth also depend on the amount of water the roots could gather as well as the sunlight it could gather. So a tree without enough roots or leaves wouldn't finish growing. Ultimately I wasn't sure I was going to be able to work those in during the 48 hour competition time, which is over in a few hours.

The game is good but it is a bit dull after some time. How about adding roots or giving the player more influence?
