橫向卷軸遊戲（side scrolling）通常你會控制主角，由畫面左邊行去右邊，有時上落，喺2D關卡過關。呢個視角喺七十年代後期街機出現，一炮而紅，後來成為屋企必備，有《Super Mario Bros.》、《Sonic the Hedgehog》等晒冷。版面清楚、簡單控制，幾十年嚟都影響住電子遊戲發展。
