Very nicely done, as opposed to the oldschool variant I actually liked this one.
I remember the oldschool game on the Atari. Never moving the ship, because if you did it was impossible to stop, and the inevitability of crashing into an asteroid hidden in the border on the edge ... good times!

Hey, all those years of playing Subspace finally paid off. Ahh, memories.
They should make rocket cars with the same controls as the old asteroids game, so we can finally put our retro gaming skills to good use.

Good game! 5/5! Could use a few more upgrades but still a great game!
I actually took a few upgrades out because they weren't working very well. The go faster upgrade was bad because it made the game more difficult, making it more of a downgrade. 'Space Brakes' and 'Powerup Strength' didn't make the final game either. Would be interested to hear your ideas.

great game, i epecailly like that you can move wherever you want and only the asteroids respanw at the the edges of the screen, still some more difficult levels would be nice + for example a penetrating bullets upgrade and a certain chance of shields etc spawn from destroyed asteroids. if you add that you get 5/5 :)
I added a 0% chance of asteroids dropping shields :) ... I think any higher and the game would be too easy. On the later levels where the aliens drop shields, with max shield upgrade, it's already possible to stay shielded more than half the time.
