Hooray! Here we are!
If you encounter any bugs etc., shout out! It went through extensive QA. I never saw any over 24+ hours of testing.
edit: I fixed it for web.

New update, added new stuff.
KONGREGATE MODE has fewer levels, more gameplay, a redefined control system, more QA testing went into all of it, there’s more music, too, and variation without sacrificing anything.
Another update. Added an easter egg, new final boss.

Controls in-game.
WASD = Move. (Arrow keys work too. On a ladder, W/Up becomes Climb Up, S/Down becomes Climb Down, off a ladder, W/Up is Jump)
A = Attack
B = Defend
C = Cast Magic
Esc = Pause
Made for the Genesis, works everywhere.
So plug in a Gen usb controller and sync.
KONGREGATE MODE is ZXC and Arrow Keys.
Attack, Defend, Cast Magic, Up is jump, up on ladders, down descends on ladders.
G casts Shuriken (special item, beat game once to unlock in OPTIONS, toggle on/off.)

cant do anything when hit except (try to) run away

Yeah, that's normal. There's i-frames when you're hit. That is also not true as there are other difficulties. On Super Easy, this cannot happen.

This has potential, but there are some serious flaws.
Movement is slow and not precise.
A group attacks you, one creature hits you, and you cannot get away from the other creatures, so you get hit again and again.
I updated it. See if this is better. Movement in KONGREGATE MODE is slower and more precise. I changed controls to ZXC and arrows and G in KONGREGATE MODE. There's new difficulty levels. and another one. This one is V2.0. It's being vetted. :)
