Ally asteroids stop rotating when they are at the minimum distance. This lets you keep them from flying away on the mine levels... which would be bad. :)
If you like the game please digg it. I won't get anything for this (well maybe a few extra $'s in ad revenue) but it can bring a lot of exposure to Kongregate and new people. :)
Asteroids fighting back... has good potential for a dig story.
Hi Danielo, as soon as you start the game you can do to the menu and adjust the music volume and sound effects volume independently. The game will remember your settings (saves to a sharedObject) so you won't have to change them again.
Thanks SirMustapha :)
However, why is an innocent rock the bad guy? What did the asteroids ever do the humans... maybe even a favour considering the whole whiping the dinosaurs off the planent thing.
[I do know what you meant] :)
Thanks guys! I appreciate all the positive feedback and reviews!
At this rate I will definitely consider a AR4 (or an extended version of 3 with more levels)
One thing I was purposely going for was a short fun experience. There is a bit of replay if you want to go with a different development path or try for one of the high scores. But nothing you will spend hours and hours of your time on (like I have with DTD and others).
Short sweet and fun with a fond memory is exactly what I was hoping for!
Also.. if you guys like the game. Consider giving it a Digg... if we can get enough we can bring a lot of new people into Kongregate.
I think the idea "Asteroid Fighting Back" could take off if we can hit critical mass.
I've made a quick update based on the great feedback suggestions!
Is anyone else getting the "script error" bug? I'll need to look into that one further. Thanks for all the kind words! Its a great satification to see all the happy players after all the hard work.
:)
The boss is tricky. Depending on the armada of allies you arrive with he will either be incredibly hard or defeated as simply as throwing your whole force directly at him.
So a tip... try to grab allies on those last few levels. Also having high armor will help a lot on reducing damage from the mini fighters bullets.
Since you already have the hit detection (for the score) why not bump the ball up a few pixels when you hit it? Then you could have it drop a 1 pixel every frame or two... only a few extra lines of code but I think it would make it more interesting.
This is really a great game! Definitely go with pure offensive. Since you can restart a level there is little reason for defensive and lives don't regenerate between levels.
White is a TON of fun!
If you would have given me a better weapon on level 2... I would have kept playing.
Looks cute. I like the splatter on screen when you kill them up close.
The two handed mode is interesting. I couldn't actually play that way... in the few times I tried, but this has to be a strong "mental test" to see if someone can focus on two things in that way.
What is the purpose of the shapes on the spheres? Is that come into play later? If they don't serve a purpose I would recommend just showing colors.
