I'm really enjoying the game, but could my hero be just a tiny bit less stupid about how to get back onto dragons? Micromanaging that makes it really hard to plan for the next giant!
To lower graphics quality: Right-click (control-click) the game and choose Settings. Ignore the window that comes up! Right-click the game itself again and you'll get a menu with quality options. It's not very pretty on low, but for hard levels it runs a LOT better.
The combination of my low level of skill and the limited number of upgrades mean I am permanently stuck on the Mecha-Fishhead boss. It was fun until then!
Marine biologists today were shocked to discover a genus of sharks made up of toothpicks. Two species have so far been identified: Flinderodon ginormicus and F. noneminor. The scientists speculate that either the unusually square environment in which the sharks live or their diet, which consists almost exclusively of pirate ships, may influence their cells to take on this strange geometric configuration.
Excellent game! I really appreciate that speed and handling are not artificially sluggish at the beginning. There are plenty of interesting things to upgrade; piercing was far more useful against the vessels than I expected.
Minor issues: The game uses exactly the same sound when your shield gets hit as when your ship gets hit, which is counterintuitive and makes it harder to figure out whether your chain has been broken. Deadly mine explosions look identical to enemy death explosions, which don't seem to harm the ship. And pleeeeeease add an autofire option for those of us with RSI. Any chance you can fix these for part 2? :)
heh, thanks! probably my only real contribution to the art is that sprite.
