It is not the game maker's fault that most people suck at controlling the character. I can easily control meat boy with the keyboard, it just takes practice and skill. Expecting practice and skill from players is not a bad trait in a developer. To those of you who think that it is impossible to control meat boy effectively, you simply suck at the game. Don't rate a difficult game poorly because you suck at it.
I just got the imp. I did find Fogfun's guide helpful, so you should all look at it in the list of best comments. However, regarding the final tank: The skill "Defender" for matt is about the most helpful skill you can get to defeat that boss. Then, make sure you have his counter skill as well. Then, just get defense and magic defense as high as possible (stone edge equipped, etc). Then, continually give nat autolife with revive, and when you occasionally get the chance to make an extra turn with autolife on, use slime bunny, then spam defense with her, but NEVER LOSE AUTOLIFE. Just defend every turn with matt, and you will slowly beat the boss with matt's counters. Good luck to ya!
Like Ceasar said, episode 4 IS in fact possible without a partner, I too just did it. The first one seems daunting initially, but there IS a sequence of moves that gets you out of the jam. You just have to find it (it's not overly obscure either). Episode 4-level 5 is annoying, but if you figure out the right strategy, you need to get just a little lucky, and you'll get it.
Additional advice/tips:
eggs-random. just try to gather them consistently throughout.
birds-as Iconian said, easy challenge level 4 helps a lot.
fish-easy challenge level 4 also has a pool with a bunch of fish right after the birds.
worms-i found no helpful tricks, really. I did happen to notice a SLIGHTLY above average amount on the map "uphill battle" on easy, though.
Dactyl chain-"Ptero Storm"
Boulder ride-In medium challenge level 4, there's a large gray boulder on a big hill... ride it, and if you don't get 10 seconds, just try again till you get it.
General advice: If you are doing poorly on the insane speedruns even w/ maxed stats, do the easy challenge repeatedly until you get enough extra DNA (500; enough for the strength boost), then revisit the speedruns later. Then you'll get closer to some of the milestones. THE STRENGTH BOOST IS HELPFUL. DON'T GIVE UP IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT.
I know twin peaks is annoying... perseverance is key.

silencdlol, are u saying that the people who were posting their badges WERE trying to gain popularity? If so, ur an idiot. if not, then u should realize that I was pointing out to kizzer that people don't necessarily post badges to gain popularity.
this game reminds me of tactics arena online, but.... much worse.... if you think this game at least has some potential, u should check out tactics arena online, it is pretty neat
