Hey everyone, sorry about the technical problems with badge of the day. It should be fixed now. If you had problems earning the badge before, it should award as soon as you load the game now. Please send me a whisper if you're still having any problems. Thanks!
Jim Greer made him do it. Basically, the Kongregate office is a bunch of Wrestle Jump junkies now and we mocked Greg for sucking at it and pressured him to add the new badge. :)
The first medium badge was having technical difficulties, but it is now fixed. If you have already completed the tournament, simply win any other side mission battle and the badge should award correctly.
Hey everyone, sorry about making the badge of the day a badge that doesn't work! I really should try to avoid doing that. It should be fixed now, though. Please send me a whisper if you still have any problems. All your progress earned while the badge was not working should still be saved and retroactively used to award the badge.
I'll be honest -- every year or so I consider removing this from the site, but it's always seeing the hilarious comments that stops me. Upvote this comment if you think the game should stay, or downvote this comment if you'd like it removed. If this comment has a negative rating at the end of June (or at any point thereafter), I'll remove Extreme Missile Defense X-treme 3D from Kongregate. Vote now to the right!
This game reminds me of Breaking Bad (spoilers ahead). There's a father named Walt who's near death and wants to do everything he can for his family. He adores his wife and just wants to be with her, but she always does the opposite of what he wants her to. They also have an adolescent son and a baby together.
Please note that the medium badge has been changed to explicitly require completing all the regular levels first, since there's an in-game cheat that allows you to skip straight to the bonus levels.
This story is actually kind of messed up. The guy met some hip, mysterious girl for one night during his youth, then he grew up, got married, and had a daughter. At the end we're shown the guy reunited with what was essentially an emotional one-night stand with a woman he knows nothing about, leaving behind the woman and child who dedicated their lives to him. Are we meant to believe that true love is a chance meeting with an idealized, mysterious girl from our youth, casting aside the notion that true love is actually something that is built up over time through years of dedication, commitment, and learning to love someone for who they truly are?
Preemptive response to anyone who brings it up: Yeah, I know the 2 medium badges are pretty easy and probably could have been labeled as easy badges instead. But they'd be on the harder end for easy badges, so I did a mental coin flip and went with medium. Enjoy the 10 (20?) extra points!
Please note: This game was just transferred between accounts, which means that comments/ratings were wiped. It's not stolen -- sorry for any confusion!
@LokiGodOfFire and others -- please don't downrate the game if you're having trouble with the badges. The game is submitting all the data fine; it's not the developer's fault. The issue seems to be on our end, but I have no idea what's wrong since the game is submitting all the required data correctly, and that's all I really know how to check. :-/
They seem to award inconsistently. I had to complete the 4th race about 5 times to get the medium badge, even though I saw the data from the game being sent while debugging. There's something weird going on. If anyone else has experiences with getting or not getting the badges, please leave a comment about it.
