Well, the creature boss is sometimes a dragon.. I'd really like to see some more legendary mobs, and more creature types, and bosses, and weapons, and enchantments.. so basically I want an update :P
Gorgon, Minotaur, and Hydra are the legendary mobs
The Dreadfather and the Corruptor are the "End Bosses" of each of the different campaigns. Every 9 levels on the "Uneasy Peace" levels you fight one of the end bosses or a normal boss with 2 boss mobs in it.
I've killed 7 gorgons and 1 Hydra in this go thru and I'm at lvl 163 I think they are more common that the others.
To kill a gorgon use 'Elixir of Protection' to get preferably 100 stun resist (the pots add 50, you should have a bit of stun resist already) She can also poison so 'Snake's Blood potions' help a little. She try to stun the party and do minimal dmg with her gaze attack, hit the whole party pretty hard with a poison attack, or hit a single person hard. To win you need to have a healer who can deal with her damage output and a damage class that can whittle away at her hp quickly (Rangers 'Hunters Prowess' is very effective since the Gorgon is a creature) I've fought 5 gorgons so far (of 6 legendary mobs!!) War Cleric Mage Ranger and never had any problems at all.
The recommendation "engine" is terrible. As an example, it wants me to lose 3 dmg 10 power regen and 60% stun resistance to gain 48 poison dmg.
I'd like to see that improved in the next game or in an update(hoping for the former) If that gets done, I'd love to see that utilized in the shop menu with a "recommended gear" tab. Later in the game I get tired of looking thru all of the shop and start skimping, a brief overview of the most applicable stuff would take out a bit of the monotony and pain with looking for gear in the shop. The classes could be a bit more balanced (barb being useless[spears might help], conjurer being cool, but not worth the slot for deep dungeon diving), or maybe a few more skill slots As it stands right now I don't use alot of the skills because they are situational and thus I never use them.
I love this game. My suggestions are hopefully useful criticism.
For those of you deep in the dungeon (500+) how does the gear scale vs the mobs? Are you just blisteringly overpowered, or is there still that chance that things could go array?
Are barbarians just unless? Rangers and rogues are better damage with the same survivability. Their debuffs are ok, but they don't seem to justify the lowered survivability. Jostle is cool but I don't think that's enuff to redeem the class.
You said there was strategy? I love the concept with the map and pretty much everything else, but this is a puzzle game long before it's a strategy game. There might be a few different answers to the puzzle, but it's still a matter of learning the waves and planning ahead.
This game can be absolutely wonderful with a few updates, but if you are fighting the will of the people you made the game for, the game will eventually fade away.
I want to critic the game so much because I like it, but I feel it will be pointless.
If you do change heart, some things I think would benefit the game include; speeding the overall game up, checkpoints, some tangible benefit to a high score, tweaking the numbers to add depth to the strategy (less rock paper scissors)
That being said, the game is a higher quailty than many. 4/5
