The gameplay is so bland and unintuitive that I could barely make myself play through three levels. All in all this gameis so horrible that I'm shocked it made it onto the front page. I don't understand why people play this game or why it got anything more than a 2 star rating.
(sorry for the double post)
This is a disgrace to shadow of the colossus. Not only does this game completely ignore everything that made shadow of the colossus great, but it disregards everything that makes any game good. I understand that I'm comparing a ps2 game to a flash game, but I've seen many flash games that would put this to shame. Shadow of the Colossus was so awesome because a) the graphics were ground breaking! not only did it look amazing for a ps3 game but it could still hold its own against some of the games today! b) It had a moving, inspiring, and engaging story. c) The game mechanics and overall gameplay were innovative and fun! Now lets see what makes Heir a horrible game and disgrace to Shadow of the Colossus. a) The graphics are horrid! Being an artist and animator myself, playing this game makes me want barf. b) The story - wait story. That's right this games excuse for a story is so sad and it's so obvious that even the writer didn't take it seriously that I forgot it existed. c)
"Sometimes the slopeskier goes so fast he loses his headphones. Don't be alarmed. Just listen to the wind and ride hard." I'm wondering wether or not this is just a clever way to cover up a glitch. Either way it's an AWESOME game!

I agree with most of your points except that you can't have survival horror and sci-fi action shooter in one. If this game isn't proof enough of that then you should go play some of the Metroid games. Their sci-fi shooters with plenty of action but i swear you'd never think that eight bits could scare the crap out of you like that.
very well made game. The gameplay is unique and fun, the art styles is very cool, and the animation is very fluid. The gameplay is effective and simple. Although it may perhaps be too simple and it might get repetitive for a longer game, it works well for something short like this. The simple textured backgrounds are very stylized and cool looking. The 3-D aspects are also very well done and blend quite nicely with the rest of the art due to their toon style. Overall a very well made game. Though I think it would be very cool to see a longer sequel with some more game mechanics to mix things up and perhaps a story line.
extremely boring. The controls are rather vague and the graphics suck. First off add some music. You'd be surprised how much more fun it'd be with some awesome music to rock out to. Second try to give a little more instruction. I would have the first level freeze at each point that you have to do something and explain how to do it. Third it's real hard to get money. I'm sure it gets easier the more upgrades you have, but the upgrades cost so freaking much it takes forever to buy them. Finally the game just doesn't look good. It's not a major problem but it would be a whole lot more fun with some explosions, and sparks flying from the cart, and all kinds of other flashy effects
well that was depressing. it was very well made, and it seemed to have promise of a very deep story. however the story was so simple blatantly meaningless and sad that it ruined the whole thing.
disappointing. it looked promising at first but the game play is the worst! the mechanic of using your mouse for most everything was interesting at first but after a little while it just got bland. i think this game has potential but it definitely needs something more than drawing lines through enemies! Also the visuals (like the rest of the game) were boring. low quality animation and generic art style. the icon of the samurai's head in the corner showed a very cool style but it was not to be seen anywhere else in the game. Also a few cut-scenes would be nice. i'd like to see another installment in this series were it to incorporate such things but otherwise, don't waist your time.
hey, well it's better than anything i could do. However If you want to make something really worthwhile i suggest spending a bit more than a day on it.
Thank you :D
