Holy shit, I just beat Ragnarok on Day 23. Two Holy Grails HAPPENED to show up at almost the same time the Sword did. And, I was playing as a Noble, which gets an Exp. boost for kills, right? Combine that with +29% Exp. from eating dinner, and WHAM, leveled up TEN TIMES IN ONE DAY. Nothing could have possibly gone more perfect.
Protip to new players: Building more than 1 Wood Bin, Iron Bin, etc. for holding resources is DEFINITELY a smart idea. When you have 10 of each resource to hold instead of 5, deceptively you can go an EXTREMELY longer time before you run out, since they recharge in real-time and will partially replenish (moreso with higher max counts) while you're using them up. Just make sure your shop size can hold the extra structures! Expanding 4 times ASAP helps tremendously with that.
Just finished the game. :) I had an immensely difficult time on the Mesa (goddamn AMAZONSSSS) but I enjoyed the challenge. There were some nice creative ideas in this game that the first Cursed Treasure didn't have, and it felt a lot less grindey as well. Five stars. Hopefully if there is a Cursed Treasure III, we can see about fixing some of the remaining game-balancing issues.
Anyone having trouble with Epic Mode past Chapter 2? Listen to my advice. BUFF. UP. You WILL get wrecked if you do not make buffing yourself a habit. Protect, Barrier and Dispel will be your best friends through the whole game, and Reflex at higher levels helps a tremendous deal as well. Use combo attacks to break your foes; Lumber + any high-powered hit for a guaranteed critical, Fright + Blessed Natalie + high-powered attacks like Fireball or Pulsar for tremendous power, etc. Anna's Combo Shot (not Arrow Rain) combined with certain bows help massively; I like doing this with Thor Bow for multi-turn Stun. Revive characters who are already alive for Auto-Revive status to survive certain bosses' ultimate attacks (particularly Godcat's special, Epic-Mode-Only Limit Break variations used on you).
This game is garbage. Buggy as hell, grindy, and it doesn't make you feel any sort of emotion when you win. Lacking several features that would make the game feel more accessible. Some of the gameplay elements are creative but many are unbalanced or not even worth using, and the enemies are even worse when it comes to balance-- one wave can suddenly show up immune to all your towers and kill you after a perfect streak. 2/5 stars is generous. :-/
I just beat the optional Super Boss. Hoooolllllyyy sheeeit. One of the freakiest fights I've ever had in any RPG, and the #1 most unique and insane battle in the entire EBF series. I'm STOKED about the reward-- it was worth the effort.
(to sychly) While the game is paused you can put your other Special Zombies or Supports down. Set Jackson down first, scan the screen for a tight cluster of people (especially Soldiers) and hit 'em with the Canister Bomb before it unpauses again. Very effective :)
Finally beat the 65k challenge in Survival mode! Man that was hard. I have no advice for this, other than keep practicing and you'll eventually become skilled enough to do it. Now THAT'S how a video game SHOULD be played! :) :)
GUYS! I got the new Outer Space track working on Kong! All I did was clear my browser cache, reload the page, and it WORKED! None of my saved data got deleted. Though, it might have affected some of my other Kong games, haven't checked. Anyone who's having issues with it, give that a shot maybe.
(to WeaponsMaster) Next time that happens, memorize what Round number it is, then next game, prepare in advance for it. :) Me, I often have trouble getting Lead Bloon defenses operational by the time they appear, but I'm working on it.
Round 66: The game reminds you to take BREAKS. :) That makes me very very happy to see in a game. Excellent work-- the game is amazing enough already but they had to add that in too, ahhh :D Yes, just YES.
I disagree with PJ6211. I think the auto-level system is gorgeous, and keeps the game one I would play over and over and not get tired without having to start over from the beginning. Games get boring when there's no more challenge. I want to see more games like this one, with this system.
@Kitalpha I didn't switch anything, I just found my saved files randomly deleted when I logged on :'( It probably hit all my other games on the site too, argharghargh
What the heck, why can't I select Huge city size anymore? >< It'll only let me pick either Small or Typical. UGH, I've already BEATEN Typical, there's no point in beating it again...
I give this game a 3 out of 5. The graphics and music, as well as VOICE ACTING WOO AWESOME, were its excellent strong points. The gameplay was... **decent** but not great, it's basically just two kinds of enemies over and over and you have to have x amount of defensive power to survive stuff, it's not as innovative as I'd hope a game to be. All in all, a good game, something to giggle over for a few hours of your life but not beyond that, unless you leave it on in the background just for the amazing soundtrack. ^^
What a beautiful game. I just beat the Earthwall, and... no spoilers, but I think I'm tearing up a little... ;_; I wonder what will happen next? Aghhh...
