Meh. Entertaining for a few minutes, but poorly balanced and the randomness is frustrating. Pulling off sweet combos is more a matter of luck than skill. Also, the fact that you have to stay at the front of the screen to beat story mode should be made clear.
This is one of my favourite games on Kongregate. I don't understand why some people think the game is boring; if you like dungeon-crawler type games, this is a fantastic RPG engine! I would really like to see this engine expanded upon - more classes with more skills to choose from, more different types of monsters, maybe some new things to encounter (in addition to monsters, shrines, items and stairwells... traps, puzzles, etc), and so on. I played this game quite a bit before there were badges, and now I plan to play through to get all of them.
This is my favourite new Kongregate game in quite some time. It's addictive and fun, fairly well balanced, with few bugs and surprising replay value. Once you finish the game with a 'balanced' party, try going with interesting combinations (all clerics and mages anyone?) for added challenge.
