Ha, I love that the music plays in reverse when you go backwards at the start and find The End and the boss that way. Major pain to go all the way out and find the gun, but the WUB WUB WUB the whole time was almost worth it.
Three major complains. And I do mean major:
1. Sword and rapid fire enemies can spawn out of nowhere often instantly kill you, regardless of armor or health. If you get in range of a sword enemy and stay there for any longer than a millisecond, you instantly die.
2. Massive imbalance of difficulty. In mid and lategame, some stages are stupidly hard, while others are laughably easy. Every single boss is a joke, including the final boss.
3. Any sort of lag lowers your fire rate, but not the enemy fire rate. That just seems silly. And for a game as poorly optimized as this, if you play through the whole thing in one sitting, the memory leak is going to actively kill you in the game.
Why is the car I'm driving 2x weaker than the ones I'm not? When I hit something at full speed head on, cars of the same kind as mine survive as I explode. Especially annoying when you're trying a takedown/close escape strategy.
Very nice updates/patches. Fixed the small complaints I had. Looking forward to Chapter 2. This could very well join the MARDEK series as the best flash RPGs.
Ugh, I still can't get past that art style. Akira Toriyama called, he wants his hair back. And it looks so wrong plastered on some 12 year old's "DARK AND EDGY" nonsense.
Great game, though status effects are a bit overpowered. Some fights come down to whether or not the boss feels like stun/freeze locking your face off. Likewise, the stun-all skill you can learn as early as level 4 as a warrior is horribly overpowered. It makes any non-boss encounters a joke.
It seems like there are 1000 kreds traps scattered across the screen. When trying to just play the game normally, a misclick in any direction usually prompts a huge annoying Buy with Kreds window. Really getting on my nerves. At least condense all of it to one area not near gameplay.
Fantastic game, been waiting such a long time, and Chapter 3 didn't disappoint. Even longer than Chapter 2, and possibly the deepest Flash RPG made to date. Yet with such detail and accomplishment, it still holds it's role as parody of the genre, and has some genuinely funny moments. Even with the new Skip feature, I never touched Z during dialog, as the story was even more well paced and engaging than in previous installments. On a side note, I really shouldn't glance down to the comments anymore, it fills me with such rage. Why Pseudo chose Kongregate as the new home for MARDEK is beyond me. Look at a third of the damn comments, looks like the average 12 year old's Instant Messages and all complain about it being a "ripoff of X game", while they praise "Generic Defense Game 501143" as BEST GAME EVAR because it takes no thought to understand. And people say Newgrounds is bad.
Noa? Huh, I'd never expect you to be making flash games. Elona was a good play last year. Just don't change any "Everyone loves Shena's ass" lines and we're good.
Could use more customization options on the battle specs end. Leveling seems like a flat, unimportant thing when you control nothing about it. Also, tubes seem to be the only "equipment" type feature, and they don't last long. And in a game that seems to be as grinding heavy as every other MMO, this could get boring fast.
My only real gripe is with the way enemies spawn units. They should follow the same rules the players do. Having them suddenly spawn 90 units because I got their castle to half health is stupid and only serves to drag out battles.
I'm not sure if it's the server or people doing it on purpose, but people are sliding halfway across the map during a lag spike, which always seems to be convenient for my opponent. When it's not one bug, it's 100 others.
This shouldn't be controversial for anyone who has been on the internet for more than 5 minutes. Seriously.
But the game itself isn't that good. Too slow for a fighting game, the AI is dumber than dirt, spamming either attack wins you every fight, and bugs galore. Rating it honestly, it deserves a 3/5.
