Awesome update! If this isn't even close to the amount of things that the entire new island is going to bring, then I'm more excited than ever. I appreciate the change in the material around the alchemist. I held off on destroying it before so it would still feel like it was a room, but now I don't have to worry about that :) Very cool concepts with the mini-boss and boss, look forward to using the new materials received from them. All around just a great update :)
Sooo I just talked to Caleb in The Golden Apple, and at first it was fine, but then he said, "But I am considering bringing you with me. You have shown some impressive swordfighting skills in past battles. I could use an extra man on my journey, do you want to join me?" I said yes, but now every time I hit enter, he repeats the same text box, but the conversation is still progressing. HE LOOKS BLIND, NOT DEAF!
So there needs to be an option to leave a den/ambush at the cost of a healthpoint. I went into the ghost tower with a non-damaging priest, and two physical damage dealers (not thinking obviously) And I had to wait for about 10 minutes for the fight to be over. I wasn't able to do any damage to the ghost, but my heals were enough to keep my team alive with the low damage from the ghost. Thankfully the ghost was doing just enough for me not to be completely soft-locked. I know I could refresh the game, but I would lose a lot of points, due to the multiplier at the end of the game. Just something to hopefully be thought about to avoid soft-locks in any situation. Great game otherwise though, looking forward to seeing this game evolve through future updates :)

In the rare the case you and your enemy can't deal enough damage to each other, we have a 'draw' feature which will trigger, when some time limit will pass. But looks like it didn't work it your case. Just to be sure, were there any summon spells involved in this fight?
