Finally got the hard badge with a score of 1014. It really pays to push your gold production while only barely making enough food to stay alive. 4 fishers at 4th upgrade can cover you the rest of the game. Any needed food increases come from environment upgrades.
It's just so boring. Most idlers have a much higher level of user engagement. I gave this a 2/5 before it got badges, and am tempted to lower that to 1 now that it has them out of bafflement that enough people liked it to get it to the point of being badged.
I really don't understand why people stick with a game that plays itself. Beyond choosing your cards, you don't have control over what your cards do in battle. If I want a game that plays itself, I'll just go to an idler.
There's little to recommend this game over the dozens of bullet hell games on Kong. It gets to 2 stars by virtue of not being another idler. Beyond that, the controls are responsive enough and the music is decent. The graphics are pitiful by modern standards, but I take them to be intentionally retro, so I don't hold that against it. If you're going to have a vampires vs. machines theme, though, you should include more actual vampire elements than the story. Make it a part of the game itself. Also, please, always get a native English speaker to proofread your story. I'd expect better writing from a ten year old, and "all your base are belong to us" jokes about bad writing are seriously played out. Final score: 3/5.
Nice! I'll take my three and run with it! Seriously though the story is meant to be completely cheesy and poorly written. It's a joke. Sorry that kind of stuff is played out. This is a shooter game where you are meant to have fun blowing stuff up.
I played this back in February, getting to level 20 and then gladly leaving. My account was reset, it seems, meaning I would have to play it all over again from scratch. This game is not even on the same continent as "worth it", so *bleep* off. 1/5
It took me a while to realize that the level of missions available is determined by the highest level hero you have that isn't on a mission. This means that you can click outside of the missions then click back on it to have a new mission at the same level available, so long as you don't send your highest level hero until last. It would be really useful to have this information in game.
I originally gave this 4/5, but having completed the game, I've lowered that to 3/5. The first level was good. It was very promising. The graphics were smooth, it was well animated, and it was kind of neat killing zombies in an antique car to start. The problem that really killed my rating is the monotony. All of the cars handle the same, get roughly the same mpg, boost the same, fire guns that only really differ in sound effect, and you run into the same four varieties of zombie on every level. Without some variety, the game becomes a grind. For example, the laser and minigun fire at the same rate, have the same firing arc, and the same lousy auto-targeting. A new game has to live up to the other games of the same genre on Kong, and this game simply doesn't. You don't have to beat Earn to Die, but maybe you should examine it for some ideas on what variety to offer to make the game worth playing to the end.
Quick guide for all badges: Only buy one duck. Skip the races that require an absence of a skill. Train everything to 150(last race requires this). 2: CHEAT: Max endurance by spawning food. Drag duck on food. Without releasing, drag duck off game Left and down. Duck will eat the same food over and over, don't release mouse button until energy is at 150.
I was thinking how impressive it was that my duck continues to train and race after being eaten by a crocodile when it occurred to me that after he gets swallowed, he swims down a long brown tunnel before falling a short distance into a vertical bowl of water. That makes the training: Swim. Get eaten. Swim to the other end of the croc. Make a stylish dive into the croc-o-potty. Worse, I was training a brown duck.
