Actually it was Kongregate's fault that saved files were killed when this game was re-uploaded with the APIs. Please don't rate it down based on that. Thanks!
I love games like this, where you're encouraged to do the sort of thing that you'd naturally find yourself doing in other games while just messing around. Sorta like the games we all play in our heads while stepping on floor tiles and moving our hands against passing scenery in a car (or maybe this is just me?).
Hey everyone, we're experiencing a glitch on the site where re-uploaded games that don't go through the Kongregate staff cause everyone's saved files to be wiped. We took special precautions with Papa's Pizzeria, but a communication error on my part (ie, forgot to tell FunkyPear) led to this new version not going through us, thus, wiping everyone's saved files. I think that this new version improves the game tremendously, but I'd like to ask that everyone PLEASE not downvote the game because you lost your saved file, as this was NOT the developer's fault. Rather, it was Kongregate's. Again, many apologies, but I hope you all enjoy the new-and-improved Gravitee! (The game has been made significantly easier, so working back up to your old progress shouldn't take too long.)
Just a little backstory -- the Kongregate coins were added to this game about 6 months ago, when Papa Louie was featured as a challenge (the third, I believe? around there). Our traffic was really low, though, so very few people around now ever saw the challenge, and as a result, the presence of the coins was very confusing, since they didn't actually do anything. The challenge is now being brought back as an achievement. Partially because Flipline went so above and beyond for this (putting in the coins and such) and achievements get more "mileage," but also because people bitched and whined about the task being required as a challenge. When we re-release old challenges, you'll likely only have to complete the game to earn the card.
I wish I looked like that, stealthsilent! Also, I didn't realize that Papa Lo- I mean, the super secret final customer, could only be unlocked by getting all gold with everyone else. The first hard badge has therefore been changed to 35 customers from 36.
clubp, I like the way you think. I wish more would adopt this philosophy. McKain, you fail. Please rate the game for the actual game, not for my decision to make it into a challenge (which had nothing to do with the developers). And Jabor is correct. Part of my logic here was that if you got all 36 gold medals, you will have also gotten all 36 customers, thus earning you the same number of points as an impossible badge, even if it just required more time than skill.
Way to ignore the whole plot of this game, absenm! Papa Louie is out on an adventure (ie, the boss is gone), which is the whole reason Roy has to run the pizza shop in the first place. Duh.
TheTester, I tested your complaint, as I agree that picking up all the orders immediately, then leisurely filling them out one or two at a time would be a pretty big exploit. However, my service score was severely hindered when I tried this. I believe that "waiting" time goes from when they enter the restaurant to when they leave. The time at which you pick up their order doesn't seem to matter. Or perhaps it considers both times separately?
This is probably the first and only Diner Dash-style game that I've ever really enjoyed. It's also great at showing me how dumb I can be sometimes -- I never thought I could make it as a waiter anyway.
A badge you say?? All right. I apologize for neglecting this game for too long, especially after the developer complained about the lack of badges months ago. I didn't do it on purpose, dapbot! I SWEAR! Also, the song is "Hide and Seek" by Imogen Heap.
