Damn, dirty troggs! Finally some revenge for all your wrongdoings! I'll never forget the time when you fools invaded the eastern region of Loch Modan. I chased you down south through the Badlands, and even ventured into the filthy hole that is Uldaman -- a once-proud cavern placed on the map by the adventurous League of Explorers. But alas, your numbers overwhelmed me as I approached the camp of the master enchanter, seeking the knowledge that would allow me to arm myself with the power necessary to drive your filth from these lands. My corpse lay on the ground, decaying next to a dead paladin who found the same fate as I. BUT NO MORE! Now, troggs, your numbers have dwindled, and your power has weakened. For only one might blow from my trusted hammer is all it takes to rid your kind from this world, and relieve my mind of stress!
I finally beat this game. The hardest part is really just getting the controls down. Once you've done that, it's smooth sailing. The ending is excellent.
Actually, Emily, at first I thought you DID die when you fell off the edge, so I avoided it at all costs, and managed to score 1992 without falling off once the entire round. Yeah, I know, I win the internets. All shall bow down.
This game looks great, and I disagree about the poor level design. In the first stage, all you can do is move right -- and that's all you're supposed to do. After that, the game explains a bit more, and challenges you to find the switch. Admittedly this game is about as non-casual as Flash games go (with the exception of maybe Warbears...), but that's definitely intentional. Oh, and "escape" pauses. At that menu, people who know me well can probably guess what my one complaint is about this game.
I can never get that star in the upper-right corner. It's so tantalizing because the number value of it seems to go up by one every single time I get another star!
After spending more time with this game, I can say that the balance definitely needs some tweaking. Advancing rounds doesn't earn any money, so the best way to "farm" gold is to allow your own forces to be beaten back a bit, keeping the fight around the middle for ungodly amounts of time. The upgrades are extremely expensive, but so crucial that the game seems to become physically impossible after round 12 or so if you don't have them. It's fun, though. Kind of a mix between Bowman and Prince of War.
This game is excellent. It reminds me of the days when I would beat up nerds for test answers! Haha! ...okay, so maybe that was a lie. But it reminds me of the days when I was a nerd, being beaten up for test answers. All right, all right... that was a lie too. It reminds me of the days when I was a nerd, but didn't even have the test answers. There. ARE YOU PEOPLE HAPPY NOW?
Allow me to slip on my monocle and explain why this game is good.
If it were made without any reference to Pac-Man, two things would be noticeable. First, it would still be an enjoyable game on its own. Second, it would kind of remind the player of Pac-Man, even if it didn't seem like a remake.
Well done indeed. Mm-yes.
