I got to level 12. Power upgrades seem worthless, but increasing the rate of fire seems crucial. I was a little disappointed to discover that the best turret placement seems to be stacking them on top of my character... Still a lot of fun, though.
Well, first of all, the graphics are great, so it doesn't need any work there. My main problem with the game is that it's just way too difficult to beat the computer. It took me nearly a dozen tries. The controls are a little funky -- "C" to fire doesn't work too well when I'm already using my left pointer finger on "D." I seem to hit the enemy plane every time I try to take off at the beginning of the stage, but maybe that's my fault. And maybe I missed it, but I didn't see where armor and fuel was displayed at the upgrade screen. I think part of what contributes to the difficulty is that your shots move so slowly, and the rate of fire is a bit low as well.
The graphics in this game are really great, but it takes way too long to become difficult for proficient typists. It also seems a bit cut off around the edges.
This game has the potential to be really, really good. After playing for about 15 minutes, I was a bit shocked that it only has about a 3-star rating. But after playing a bit more, I noticed its flaws. Typos/grammar issues in the text could definitely be cleaned up a bit, and only being able to shoot gangsters/officers in the head while they're standing (even when they're in plain view) is very odd -- especially since they don't have a death animation. Worst of all, however, was a bug that caused my scope to freeze up in the night-vision stage, making it impossible to progress. If these issues are ever fixed, I'd be happy to feature this game on the front page.
This game is cool; it reminds me of Earthworm Jim. You know, that stage where you have to use the big marshmellow to bounce puppies across the stage, and if they hit the ground, their father turns into a rabid monster and mauls you. ...no, I'm not making this up. Come on, someone else must have played it!
When I was in high school, I was really, really into Airsoft. My room was loaded with those things. This game reminds me of when I used to spend hours taking them apart and putting them back together. Why, oh why was my Tokyo Marui M4A1 stolen from my car...
I love the music so much. It reminds me of Parasite Eve. Sometimes having music that makes absolutely no sense for a game just works perfectly. See also: "Power-Copter":http://www.kongregate.com/games/James_Kholamian/power-copter.
