This is a rather unique take on TD where resource mining and resource positioning on maps comes into play. I like it. The game looks very polished as well. Nice job. The only negative thing I have to say at this juncture is that there is a rather slow learning curve, even with the in-game tutorial. Perhaps a hint for first-timers as to what to build first would be in order.
Fun, addictive game. Zombie AI needs work though. Many times I've had zombies with 1 human remaining, but the zombies would not go near the human to finish the map. That's very frustrating. Also frustrating is the luck-of-the-draw quality of the map where it varies what sort of population spawns in the city at the beginning. That can make or break your attempt. Overall it's a fun zerg game though. 4/5
A few comments about this game: First of all, nice job on this, it is very addicting. I wish it had been made clear up front that the cost of upgrades is not cumulative. That is, if rank 9 costs 1500 and rank 10 costs 2000, buying rank 9 does not mean rank 10 will cost 500. It still costs 2000. If I had known that up front, I would have just saved my points and spent the 2000, *once*, and not wasted the 1500. That was rather frustrating. Other than that, a nice, straightforward, enjoyable TD.
Geez, if you think having to replay levels for points sucks, try playing Gemcraft Zero, one of the most highly rated games on all of Kongregate. That game is the poster child of your complaint. Replaying levels is par for the course in TD games where you accumulate skill points. If you could play through it all the way in one shot, you'd probably say "The game was too short and too easy." There's no pleasing some people. This is a fine TD game.
On a game-related note, (not related to the rudeness and inconsideration of ValkeryLord,) I'm glad Morph wrote a sequel to this; I loved the original. However I'm saddened to see that there is still no "Undo" or "Back up" feature, meaning that if you screw up, you have to start the level over from scratch. I prefer pure puzzle solving which allows for trial and error and rewards success, not a system which penalizes you for mistrials.
*sigh* Kongregate really needs to enable some sort of "spoiler" features for the user comments section. Like, for example, "Hide Spoiler". Or for people who want to be considerate, the ability to label your own spoiler as such, and auto-hide it unless another user elects to see it.
This is a great "play til you die" game, because unlike some I could think of, the game does actually end. I've played high-ranked "Unlimited Play" TD games where you can literally get to a point that you just won't die. No chance of that here.
Stylistically I love this game. The actual game play is rather dull, but in a relaxing way, if that makes sense. It isn't something I'll come back and play often, because it's not a very deep or enjoyable game once the initial amusement at drawing my own ship wears off. Still, for what it is, it was well done. Nice job.
WASD movement with mouse aim and shoot are *industry standard* controls. Railing against that is pointless. However, yes, in any game, customizable controls are nice.
Yeah, nice concept, but it was too easy, and a lot of the "fun extras" are totally unnecessary. The game ends long before you get enough cash to buy any of the "endgame" guns or tower upgrades. Also, a brief instructions page would be nice. I would say the framework for a good game is here, but it needs some tweaking.
This looks like a nice concept for those willing to put the time in. Frankly, it would be less effort just to learn to play the guitar. Apparently judging by these comments, though, many others have taken the time to familiarize themselves with your composition system. So I'll go ahead and assume this is a great game. But I'll pass.
When you click the "INFO" button on the premium upgrades, all it does is launch a popup to buy Kreds. It doesn't even explain what the upgrades DO. Are we supposed to guess?
I will add that the difficulty of the last boss FAR exceeds the sum total difficulty of the rest of this game combined. There is a very high disconnect there. The fireballs come down just a tad too quickly, and the gap between them is too small, to reliably see them in time to dodge. Particularly when you're already at the apex of a jump (which you must repeatedly do) when you first see it coming.
A game with controls as simple and few as this should let the user customize the key bindings. You need to accommodate us WASD folks who *hate* controlling character movement with the right hand. I would give it 4 stars if not for that. Other than that it is a fun, if somewhat shallow, diversion. I don't see wanting to play through it more than once, though.
Another comment: the AI needs work, in that it just cast Dispel on me when I had no beneficial spells on me. Seems like it would be fairly straightforward to prevent that behaviour.
For the love of god, have you heard of in-game documentation? I spent the first several minutes trying to figure out how the hell to play your game. The spells should have descriptions of how much mana they cost. It would have been nice to know UP FRONT that 4 in a row gives you an extra turn. 5 in a row crafts a spell stone (which is what, exactly?) I just leveled up, and it's completely unclear what benefit I derive from that. You need to document your game better. Other than that, it looks nice so far.
Give me a break, this is not a "rip off" of Red Remover. I just went and played Red Remover based on reading that accusation, to see if it was true. Just because a game is in the same approximate genre, doesn't mean you can throw the phrase "rip off" around liberally. The game play isn't even close between the two games. They're both fine games, but about all they have in common is that you're trying to remove red shapes. You want a peanut for remembering Red Remover when you saw this game? Okay. Here's a peanut. Now leave the developer of Werebox alone; this is a fine game in its own right and deserves better than to be dismissed pejoratively as a "rip off",which it is not.
Great game concept. It is a little lacking in polish, though. I can forgive the mediocre graphics and lack of sound. However you need to implement a way to continue where I left off if I don't finish the game in one sitting. Don't make me play through the game from scratch to get back to where I was. That's a huge negative mark.
