Typical phone-app game; not optimized for computers, not much replay value. mismatched aesthetics. not much to say about this.

First impression: Nice game, simple, but clear. The colors of the letters confused me at first, I thought that might have some meaning to it (first letters, vowels?) but no; if you incorporate a hint system, you could use colors to denote stuff like that. I think you should push back lvl4. 'Different' is quite a big word compared to the 3 and 4 letter words you're getting, so it'd be logical to push it further down. If you want to aim this at parents with children, I'd skip the 'damn'. I also feel the 'loading'is wholly unnecessary when the game is already loaded. why's that?. But lastly, I'm enjoying learning some new obscure words from this :) !

Okay I'm not going to try and play this when you force me full screen. Change it. If I want to go full screen I'll choose so myself thank you very much. Also, that music is way to loud.

I think there's potential here, but, some stuff: It is unclear if doing more steps is benefitial to gaining coins. It is unclear how many coins you have, nor how many you need to upgrade your sword. It is unclear if an upgraded sword has any benefit; maybe it'd be nice to have different stuff to upgrade, for example: upgrading boots will get you more steps per click, upgraded sword kills off enemies with less clicks, or gives more gold per click. anyway, good luck!

Nice game, mechanics seem to work well, enough different mechanics to make into nice challenges too. good job :)

Graphics and animations are hella cute, and it seems like a decent idle. However, you should check the games dimentions/area. It's waaay big, which is unnecessary and makes some of the graphics look a bit blurry, and there's also a lot of black space around the actual game-screen. It looks much better at around 66% zoom. You might also want to add a 'buy multiple' button with x10, x100 etc,, and maybe a multiplyer for getting achievements? Anyway, good luck :)

Haha, thanks for the hint POLAKX3! for anyone who want hints to endings, here's the titles and some hint; 0: No money spent = no fun (quite obvious?); 1: Mainstream (if you don't have this one that's.. odd), 2: Too hot to be beaten (take some text literally); 3: Weakspot (something about that last upgrade...); 4: far too low (is it even a weapon?)

Developer response from PolakX3

Have been waiting for comment like that! Good job! Also, one of cheatcodes is somewhat connected to Sonic the Hedgehog theme, it consists of three words and is letter only (no spaces or sth). Good luck!

Fun time trying to find all the endings :) though, the ending-ID's are not all showing in the statistics screen (#1 and #5 (I think); #4 showed correctly). Now to find that last item D: (hint to others..: there's a hidden one close to the ceiling) and guess what the cheat code is... hmm. Oh maybe it would be nice to show which endings you've already gotten (with names)

Developer response from PolakX3

The last item... It's not quite a mystery if you read between lines... Hmmm, maybe there's something in the game that sounds like an advice? If you don't mind walking, you can find it! About cheat codes: There's more than one. It's nearly impossible to type them just by playing the game, unless you use bruthforce... Let's say, it's something for these people that look outside the game. Maybe there's something in comment section? For example cheatcode "reskin" related to "that last item"? I may be wrong, but why not to try this one after picking it up? EDIT: Extended stats are now LIVE!

I like the idea, but pleeeeeease let me use my mouse for clicking stuff like menu-items and the music-button (I can't see it, but I can click it?). I like the enemy-battles, but it's kind of frustrating to have to go back and forth between endless and enemy just to upgrade everytime the battle each time (I understand why you cant repeat battles, but, still..). Another thing, when I remove more than one line (endless), I get +0, instead of money, that seems.. odd. It'd be more logical to dp double or *2,5 for every consecutive line you remove at the same time or something. Anyway, pretty okay visuals, and the music is fine. Good luck with development!

Looks good, some suggestions: It's quite unclear to me why the score for picking up people changes from game to game. The black to blue background is nice, but the black obscures rocks in the upper section, which results in crashing against unseen rocks. Also: Is there a secret restart button on the right under the game-screen? it seems like when I click that area the game restarts even though I didnt crash into anything. Nice visuals though, good luck with development.

Very nice :)! Simplistic, but with enough game-elements to keep it interesting. Also really happy with being able to reset a part of your taken path via backtracking as well as with the mouse! Only thing I'm missing is overall progress (/ how many of the total amount of levels I've solved). Again, really good job on making such intuitive game-mechanics :)

Developer response from Diamonax

Thanks! Showing the overall progress wouldn't be a bad idea indeed. For now, I can tell you there are 40 levels in total. ;)

For me it also froze, and I agree that you should be able to switch off musix/sfx. restarting let me do more levels, but then it froze again. As for the game itself, I like the concept, though it'd be nice if it would be more clear how many guesses you still have left, make the character wobble on the edge for your last guess for example. good luck on development.

Developer response from gonzos

Thanks for suggestions, I'll update the game in next release...

I like the idea, but the character movement feels kind of slow, I know it's probably because you can upgrade it, but it makes doing levels over again a bit annoying. Also, a glitch in the 'menu'-screen (?), the character sometimes just starts running, like i'm continuingly pressing a/d, and is unable to jump. Also: Is there a reason for not being able to use arrow keys? I love my arrow keys. (and maybe reassign the thing with the x-button, as it's right underneath the wasd keys, that's kinda not so handy. Anyway, good luck with development :)

Developer response from Brainstorm_Ent

I'll do fixes for all of that probably after the Game in Ten Days competition, thanks for telling me about the bugs.

Level layout is nice, but some things that need to be adjusted: jumping, now you kind of 'teleport', which is just a bit weird, going left and right is too choppy to make jumps intuitive. It also makes it hard to check if you got yourself on a jumping platform, they move while the player doesnt. Lastly think about a way to make the stalactites blend better with the background, as they kind of look like things that will lower your health now. Anyways, good luck with game development :)

Developer response from Nicecoolguy0

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I know the movement isn't that great. :\ I coded it from scratch in FlashDevelop since it gives you more freedom with what you want to do compared with using an engine such as Construct or Stencyl but it also meant that I spent most of my development time learning Class-based programming and couldn't find the time to do everything I wanted. I planned to improve the controls at a later date but despite spending almost the entirety of the last day I had before I had to submit it for GiTD working on it I eventually ran out of time. I was planning to do a lot more, I had plans to have a grappling hook, a bow weapon, at least ten levels and heck, even a bit of story. I think I underestimated how hard making a game is and bit off more than I could chew but now I'll know for next time! Maybe I'll come back to it at a later date with no time constraints and make it how I originally imagined it. Thanks again for the comment, it means a lot to me. :)

Some suggestions. The sound-buttons do not work, fix this, people will find it annoying. Another thing: It is really unclear how the price for seeds is calculated, the toolbar says 266 for the starterplant (which would cost more than it brings in), but planting them it says less, though it is not a consistent number. I also suggest going over both water and fertilizer in the tutorial, cause it's unclear what the numbers around the ground-patches mean. You might also want to let people know they will lose their investments like sprinkles when they upgrade to a bigger map.

Something different than other people have already mentioned: For a game about 'writing books', it feels kind of stupid to be clicking all that much. It'd feel more cohesive if you could 'write' by clicking keyboard keys, which I think would also help with scaling (I can type a lot faster than I click). The minigames are funny, though the magic-square is sometimes unsolvable, and they don't really seem to have to do with writing? A 'type this word asap', would be more in theme I think.

It's nice :) the bolts are a little anoying to keep putting on and taking off, I guess there's a reason this is made for mobile. But for 6 levels, it's a fun quick game. Only pet-peeve I have is that the game doesn't fit the screen: There are both horizontal and vertical scrollbars. Couldn't find all the notes, poor me D:

I agree with GianniS3 on the collision with spikes, it's too tight, or the hitbox of the character is too large. It's impossible to strike when walking, which feels kind of awkward. Also agree on the apples, it'd feel logical if you had hitboxes and the apples would 'heal' you, but apples coming out of stones is a bit. odd. You might also want to rethink a for attack. I think some people prefer to use the wasd keys, so maybe make mouse-click or space the default attack-key. Art looks fine, good luck on further development.
