The tiny little guys pasted on top of the audience are the best thing. When someone linked it to me I thought it said "Bipolar Lady Fashion Model", so I'm a little disappointed.
I feel like this totally fails to deliver on the promise of the first few seconds, where Brickout makes it seem like it will be an idle game crafted from minigames. But nothing else is like that, and considering people stay hooked on Idle Mine simply because they get joy from the new rock names, this has remarkably little to discover.
It's pretty neat, I enjoyed playing it but I felt the graphics weren't clear enough - I didn't pay enough attention to the title screen and had no way to check what anything was. A brief tutorial would be useful, though I don't see the harm in marking the shop with "SHOP" and the enemy HQ with "HQ" or something. I'd also like to be able to turn the engines off and slow down, instead of going at top speed until fuel runs out.
I'm really glad this is a huge improvement over the first - the fact you don't need to pay makes it much more attractive. But if you DO decide to pay, you get so very little for the cash. I'd rather pay $20 for the full game, not $5 for a tiny part of it. As it is, it's just a series of terrible deals and I just can't buy into that.
The levels seem to be arranged with no concept of difficulty. The generic "Portal was a good idea" death messages are meaningless. There's no need for "guess what will kill you" when you have infinite lives and that takes all the wit and fun out of it. At least, what fun was left after those controls.
The healthbar and life counter are mystifying - why are there 10 hearts, and does each impact really need to be a different damage value? Especially considering the game just quietly takes lives away with no fuss. To be picky, I'd also say that the first enemies of games like this should really take one hit, but be doubled in number. It's more satisfying to the player to be able to take lots of scrubby enemies out quickly - the fact they all take two hits makes the game seem even slower than it already is. But it looks very pretty!
thx for your remark
